  1. We have no idea yet what his upside can be. It’s becoming apparent that it’s higher than was originally thought. The absolute pinnacle of the defenseman who was physically dominant and offensively skilled was Larry Robinson not Dion Phanuef.Anything between Number 19 and a top four D man would be a wonderful story.

  2. I've been telling for a long time, that Arber Xhekaj, was NHL ready, and he would create an impact for the Habs, he will be our Chris Pronger.

  3. Ceiling; 8-10g 30-35pts, 2nd pairing, second pp, pk, defender. He'll settle into that kind of game. He can skate, his hands are decent, he's got a good shot that will only improve, he'll be the cover for the real offensive defenseman on that pairing, that will intimidate the other team into giving up the puck. He's a missed 2nd round pick for sure, he could have the career that a lot of teams might say; how did we miss him in the first round??I really don't know of a comparable, I don't think Gudas is a comparable because we're going to end up seeing Xhekaj doing so much more.

  4. I dont know about you, but an ancient Hab that he makes me think of… Emelin. The sheer power of their hits, when you hear an insane hit on the radio, no name needed to be said. I knew right away Emelin put someone down hard just by the Mcguire's initial reaction, just cant play the puck haha.

  5. Chris Pronger would be a player that struck fear into the opposition and had the skill set to play. Another one would be Scott Stevens who had no problem putting you on your back at the blue line

  6. Arber Xhekaj sounds like an auto generated name on NHL23 when you play too many seasons and it runs out of actual prospects.

  7. I see Xhekaj's ceiling as more Dustin Byfuglien* than Dion Phaneuf. And the difference is skating. The X-man and Big Buff are both tremendous skaters (while Phaneuf liked to glide more than he liked to skate), they both lay the body like it's the '70s, and neither shied away from a good old scrap (like it's the '70s). The main difference right now is in the shot; Xhekaj goes for accuracy over power, while Buff usually went power over accuracy. But the thing is, Xhekaj is 6'4" and 238 lbs, while Buff is 6'5" and played at anywhere from 235 to 260+ lbs. So I think there is a certain amount of muscle that can still be developed by Xhekaj – kid's only 21, and he still looks like he can "fill in" a bit (which is kind of ridiculous). So I do think he could eventually access the power that Buff had, when it's appropriate. The most important point though, is that both are scary, scary players who you do not want to tangle with. Because they can put you in the hospital. And I know for a fact that there is serious regret on the part of 31 GMs that they were slow to the Arber Day picnic, as it were, and missed out on this behemoth.

*Which is funny, because Buff was an 8th-round pick, and the difference between that and undrafted is fairly minimal.

  8. He was such a treat to watch here in Hamilton and a large reason why they won the OHL and went to the CHL finals. Looked like a pro amongst little kid prospects. He’s gonna be around for a while

  9. Arber has a brother Florian 6"'2 185 lbs 18yrs. old Left winger on Hamilton Bulldogs.

  10. Legendary defensemen that could/would layout their opponents: Chris Chelios; Scott Stevens; Chris Pronger; Rob Blake

  11. I love Arber on this team he is like the new Chris Nilan a guy who can play a great team player and a legit tough guy.I said months ago i wanted this guy on the team.

  12. Just call him WiFi and put up a sign on the penalty bench thats written "Free WiFi"
    Or WiFi hotspot

  13. Not the Offense side but physically Xhakaj could end up being like a Scott Stevens for the Habs

  14. I think his ceiling is 50 pts once he's playing top mins. Plus ya might get a black eye from Xhekaj! 😂🤣

  15. "Arber Xhekaj is way better than WE? thought". I've been saying all along that this guy was going to be impressive…and is. Estimating a ceiling on this guy is difficult. Where he stands 6 games in and knowing he'll only get better…

  16. Shea webber played a bone crushing physical game. He had top min. Why can't Arber!!!????
