  1. I don't know where you get your chats with cause I check out this channel and I don't see anyone making those statements

  2. Let's be clear about the Habs in 2022. The rebuild is still on-going. It started the minute Hughes and Gorton arrived and will continue for the next year or two, for sure. This version of the Habs is just a work-in-progress and we have some decent young talent that might, might develop into very good players. This season should be better than last year, but if Allen goes down for more than a week, this team could easily undo all the progress thats been gained in the early going this season. Monty is good, but Primeau is NOT ready even for a backup role. And with 4 rookies on D, that could be a recipe for disaster too. I dont see the Habs making the playoffs this year but i also dont see last place. I can see a top 5 pick, with potential to move up a little with a willing trade partner, but I think the dream of getting Beddard is over. Gorton and Hughes need to keep stockpiling draft picks in exchange for older, non-productive guys and make shrewd draft picks (like NOT drafting Wright and taking Slav instead) AND somehow find the next Carey Price in the draft of via trade.

  3. Die hard Habfan here and I couldn't agree with you more. The Habs D-corp is gonna be lethal in the years to come, they just need more guys who can put the puck in the net on offense to help Suzy & Cole and finding a #1 goalie for the future is a priority.

  4. I don,t believe we ''Need'' a Connor Bedard, but it would be very nice to have a Connor Bedard! I am an advocate for finishing in the basements, but in a competitive way, AKA not nocessarly finishing 32nd, but ending low enough to have a S-tier prospect in the draft. There's a difference between being the Oilers from 2010-2015 and wanting 2 years of lower place in the standing! If the Habs lose games by 1-2 goals and they keep scoring goals, I'm confident.

I always believed that a team can only afford to finish bottom 3 if not dead last twice in a rebuild. Afterwards, the team must start climbing up in the standings and it must show in the way the team plays! Right now, the Habs overachieve, I'd expect them to finish the season bottom 5. Maybe Bottom 7-8 if they keep overachieving, but good teams are starting to get going.

  5. The rebuild has been going on for years.
Players on the team that have nothing to do with Hughes: Suzuki, Caufield, Anderson, Guhle, Xhekaj, Harris.

  6. The only reason why Habs lost to the Wild again is MAF. Put any other goalie in there and we would have won one or both of these Wild matchups. Fleury just likes beating the Habs that is not news.

  7. As a long time Canadian fan, my youth was filled with memories of
Stanley Cup championships, players such as Bob Gainey, the late great Guy Lafleur, unfortunately the Canadiens of today are an amalgamation of mediocrity, once again the R-word is in use, it wood seem that the Canadians have been rebuilding for the last 15 years, a suggestion to Canadian management
successful teams are a combination of two variables, talent and desire, unfortunately this team lacks both.

  8. Yeah its not bad right now..but lets not get ahead of ourselves, lets talk back at mid season, young teams usually tire themselves after mid season.

  9. Who said anything about a rebuild. Stanley cup this year baby… nobody but you has such a short memory, only 2 years ago Suzuki, Danault and Kotkaniemi took the team to the finals. From what I've seen so far, Suzuki has since improved quite a bit, Danault's position is taken by Dvorak, he is a downgrade, too inconsistent offensively. And Dach takes over for KK, I'd call it a wash between the two. On D, Weber replaced with Savard, mega downgrade. Petry replaced with Matheson, that's a mega upgrade, Petry is terrible always has been. Edmonson still there hasn't played yet. Chariot replaced by Guhle, that's an upgrade. Xhekaj replaces Romanov, slight upgrade. So slight upgrade on D overall because of Guhle and Xhekaj. On offense the key is Dvorak, if he breaks out, they can make the final again, I think the G is strong enough. If he doesn't, good bye cup. He has been playing with Gallagher and Slafs. Danault played with Gallagher and I believe Toffoli. Slafs is a mega upgrade on Toffoli in terms of skating, we'll see if he gets some more ice time though as he progresses.

  10. I definitely want our pick to be a lottery pick, I don’t want to just barley miss the playoffs because that is the worst place to be. I hope that the Florida pick is as low as possible. I don’t want Montreal to lose but I am not upset by it, the only times I will get upset is when they don’t look like they are even in the game.

  11. It is still early in the season. The Habs could still finish last in their division. Just a couple of key injuries and they could be in a bad spot.

  12. I think Montreal is going to be competitive until the trade deadline and also I’m pretty sure there’s a high chance the panthers will miss the playoffs if Buffalo keeps playing the way they are I think the panthers just might miss the playoffs and we will have 2 very decent picks this year and this draft is deeeeeepp and some players may fall from let’s say 4 to 8 sometimes that happens and a superstar slips in the first round and I think Montreal will be there for that or we get a top 5 pick with our own pick so I think we will walk out of this draft in really really good shape

  13. I agree 100%, being in a rebuild is not losing every night. maybe I'm old school but I just can't lose on purpose. that is shameful. no self respect, no honnor. I would never agree to it.

  14. The Canadiens are not a bad team, their just young. They started off a little hotter than expected, but lets not get carried away with thinking they will be making the playoffs with 75% of the team having less than 3yrs of NHL experience. They are on the right track, but its not about drafting 2/3rd line players @ pick # 15-30 etc., its about being able to snag an Elite / Franchise player to help us be a great team in 3-4yrs from now. I think the worst thing that could happen is we overachieve this year, and end up finishing 10-15th, and miss out on one of the best drafts in quite a few years. The dream is to finish bottom, let the players develop, and gain experience, then next year push for that middle of the league area, and then who knows, maybe the year after that make it to the playoffs. You dont go from rebuild to playoffs in 1yr. Its a process that usually if done right will take at least 3-4yrs, and in the case of Edmonton, about 8, lol

  15. The Canadiens are without any pressure to win, thats why they are winning. Their having fun, and its contagious.

  16. The CH, not only they to continue to improve the team, but they also have to remove dead weight like Drouin, Dadgonov, Wideman

  17. Montreal has a pool of prospects which will replace some of the expiring contacts. Habs also have 2 picks in the first round next draft. It doesn't mean they will not get a good player if they don't pick 1st. Suzuki was picked 13th. Caufield was picked 15th. Guhle was picked 16th. I'd take anyone of these players on my team and they aren't 1st overall picks.

So yes, they are already slightly competitive. 5-5 isn't a pushover. We didn't see a big difference on offence this season from last season but I expect big changed next season. The Habs aren't done rebuilding and it's nice to watch them progress!

  18. Habs won't make playoffs. They will be wild card contenders until the end. They look like the Blackhawks back in 07, 08. There gonna be a dynasty.

  19. As a habs fan. I know we have at least 2 or 3 years of rebuilding to do. At least

  20. Am I the only one who wants to keep Edmundson?? I feel like he’s one of those rare players who possesses more value on a team than on the trade market. But who knows, maybe I’m underestimating his trade value

  21. Maybe it's time to start thinking of Draft year 2025…Michael Misa is a 15 yr old who is tearing up the OHL …He will be available in the 2025 draft, maybe he'a another Bedard or McDavid…
