Now now, I don't want to try and puff the shot up too much… but I took a screenshot on the last frame you can see the puck before Zibby hit it, then opened up gimp and surveyed everything out – got a line across the top of the circles, then one from the puck to Varlamov's right side, and finally one from the bottom of Zibanejad's skate to his head. That last line and the distance from the puck to the intersection of the circles' line and the shot line are just a few pixels off. So let's say Mika with skates on is like 6'5/6'6ish, then take a few off for the fact that his leg isn't COMPLETELY extended – let's be conservative and say the last line is like 6 feet. Add that to the fact that the top of the circles is 35 feet from the goal line, and that puts the shot around 41 feet out. It takes 15 frames from that first frame for the puck to cross the line (.25 seconds at 60fps). All that for a final score of *111.8 mph*. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised at all, that was a bomb and the puck hand momentum before he hit it, whereas the hardest shot competition is from a dead puck.
Okay so I’m an Islanders fan and they lost, but this game was so awesome to watch. Playoff atmosphere between two teams that hate each other, big hits, beautiful goals, dirty goals, good goaltending, last second heroics, overtime heroics, a comeback. This game had it all
I hope our defense isn’t our downfall. Obviously we have a ton of good forwards with Panarin, Mika Laf, Kaapo, Buch, Kreider, Strome, Chytil, and the rest of our forward prospects. We also have two great young goalies but Georgie was standing on his head this game. Although Fox, Deangelo, and the rest of our young defensemen are all great offensively, we need to make sure our defenseman can play defense too. Hopefully K’Andre Miller can be an enforcer on the blue line. Can’t rely on just our offense to score and our goalies to just not let anything in. Don’t want it to be like Henrik where the defense usually isn’t doing him any favors.
listen to these crowds? Tell me there's a better place to play than NY. This is the rivalry between 2 places that are 10 miles away. You cant even tell who the home team is

At 8:04 you hear Butch say “uh-oh” when he realizes Panarin just made a great pass 😂
I’m a huge Isles fan and this was the best hockey game I’ve ever been to despite the outcome
Rangers suck

you might as well just add the rangers goal horn to this arena, it's their second home 😂

Pageau is still a nightmare to the Rangers lol

Where's Zibby, oh there he is!
rangers should not let the islanders get that point
The crowd pop when both teams score really makes this game amazing.
Mets vs Yankees
Knicks vs nets
Jets vs Giants
Islanders vs rangers
