I never saw that coming. I think the Lightning may have partied to much during the off season. They have got to play better in front of there goaltender. The Red Wings played a great offensive game but there defense let them down.
They got in their own way. Bad penalties and bone-headed decisions let Tampa get back in the game. They played well but look pedestrian on the penalty kill and Dekeyser needs to be scratched. Raymond and Seider look really good though.
As long as Blashole is there the wings will always be in "rebuild". The last time they even made to 1st rd cup was on the tails of his predecessor. It does not take 7 yrs to rebuild. And I don't know what is up with StevieY that he lets this blashole continue to use the team and bulk them for million$. Evansville kicked him to the curb and Steve scraped up the dregs & dragged his incompetent blashole to Detroit.

The better team is so much better, that their normally Vezina caliber goalie could literally have one of the worst games in his career…. and his team still won ! No idea why Detroit chose to lose their home opener in such pathetic fashion but that's the Red Wings 2017-Present.
Literally every Tampa goal was on the PP except for 2 i'm pretty sure. 26 penalty minutes for Detroit. That's 26 minutes of defending one of the best PP units in the NHL. Hard to win games like that. I will admit the reffing wasn't outstanding but Detroit has to clean those up. What an entertaining game.
