Alright man listen… If you would have told me before the season started that Ryan Ellis would miss the entire season, Couturier would miss 90% of the season, Hayes would miss 85% of the season, Wade Allison would miss 100% of the season and Konecny would miss a lot of time, I would have said they are absolutely screwed and we shouldn't expect anything positive at all. How or why people EXPECT this team to STILL be a playoff team despite all that happening, shows we have a fan base full of ABSOLUTE MORONS.
Unfortunately I thing Scott is delusional! They think they can bring in 3 pieces and be a contender next year! I feel sorry for Chuck! Maybe Scott is the reason we paid a first round pick for Rusto with his expiring contract! Crazy deal! He got you by the short hairs, pay him what he wants or he walks and your first round pick is up in smoke!
Let’s not forget, it’s not all Fletcher! I big portion of this problem is Hextall! Hextall is the reason we have no top line Offense players and mediocre defensemen!
At the very top level and fan relationship level there is something wrong with this organization. It seems trivial but just a little thing like choosing the flyers new goal song. They gave us three choices and all of them were songs you would hear at Chuck E. Cheese’s. There is a disconnect.
Winning culture? We haven’t won shit in over 40 years! You want change first fire Holmer and Clarkie from their fake jobs so they can’t wield anymore influence! Second tell Giroux to waive his trade clause so we can truly rebuild and start from zero. The more we prolong this the longer the rebuild will take.

It's absolutely ridiculous to say they are going to "aggressively" retool. They have been "retooling" for a decade and still haven't gotten it right with this core group. They have to build through the draft from the center ice position out. Coots and Hayes are good players when healthy, but are not top 6 offensive players which is what the league is built around. On a good team those guys are 2C and 3C penalty killers at this point. That's ONE of the reasons why our powerplay has sucked for years because guys like that are relied on way too much to provide offense that they have never had. They need high level skaters with puck skills if they want to compete. I'd like to see them draft Brad Lambert, but they probably won't. G needs to go. I love him to death but I'd prefer the assets in return at this point. JVR also needs to go. Guys don't park in front of the net anymore to "provide offense". They make plays, simple as that. Build around Farabee, Provy, TK, Hart, and Frost for now. Everybody else's job who isn't named Ellis, Coots, and Hayes shouldn't be safe. Also stop blaming the team's blunders on injuries! Good teams don't let that completely derail them because they have depth!

For example, the power play has been horrid for about a decade. It seems that they should look at the tape of teams that do it well and emulate them; same with the awful kill. LGBFJB!
What the hell is the thinking behind waiting on surgery for Ellis & Coots? The season is over, has been for weeks. Ellis has played 3.25 games this yr. Screw waiting! Start gearing players up for next season. Any player thaes two see on the team going forward should be shut down now, get them healthy for next season.

I thought the team would miss the playoff because of the difficulty in integrating so many new players. Also, there was a glaring inability to manage Ghost, someone who could QB the PP and then you wonder why you have a crappy PP, not to mention PK. LGBFJB!
These two need to be fired NOW !! What good has come from any decisions these guys have made? The Plodders, er, Flyers need to get rid of this management disaster and spend ALL of their money on talent evaluators outside of this team because unlike these guys in denial they need a 100% overhaul. As long as these guys are there it won't happen…and seats will be empty game after game, season after season. I'm out until they're GONE !!
The game has lost its draw. There's no more physical aspect to this game, and every time there's even a clean open ice hit, a scrum breaks out and 5 minute majors are tossed around like candy. It's a European style game now, in a North American market. Ask yourself, would you rather watch the Wings/Avs game from March 26, 1997 when Roy fought Vernon at center ice 30 times in a row, or any single game today? It's no contest. It's figure skating with sticks at this point. It's largely unwatchable. They changed the way penalties are called, everything is now a penalty, it's trash. 10 powerplays a game, why? More scoring will fix the attendance? No, 8-7 games aren't fun to watch. Let hockey be hockey, and let it be awesome again. Right now, it's a bad product.
Injuries??
Over the last 10 years, I can point out at least 2 or 3 seasons where the team on the western side of the state was decimated by injuries.
You know what happened? You'd hear that <insert no-name hockey player here> got called up and notched a couple of points in a win.
There is a system and a culture on the western side of the state that breeds success. And that team is currently headed towards a 16th consecutive playoff berth.
So pardon me if I roll my eyes when I hear about injuries.
a). A captain that is way too old and other than win faceoffs, doesn't do much.
b). Bad draft picks. Nolan Patrick was a disaster.
c). A total lack of scoring, night in and night out I see opposing players go bar down to score, we either miss
the net or shoot it directly into the goalie's midsection.
d). Our defense truly sucks, it has been bad for years. I was not a big fan of Radko Gudas, but on this team,
he'd be a star. It's sad to see this once proud franchise in the toilet.
Not winning a cup as long as Comcast is the owner, CF is the GM, the coaching staff and all the ex-Flyers lurking in the front office!! It's that simple!
