I don't mind the Kraken one. I hate the Vegas one. I don't think the blues do that one. The Carolina one is not something the Canucks want in KK, but Pesce is a yes please. 1 for 1 on PLD is a no. Horvat is worth more, you'd want more.
I know you are basing it off of a rumour but the idea of trading Horvat for roster players is stupid. They should trade him for picks, prospects or very young players. If you are going for it, why wouldn’t you keep your captain and best player?
Having said that though, some of these trades are intriguing. The Seattle one is the worst here in my opinion, outside of the first there is basically nothing there. If I was a Canucks fan I wouldn’t be very happy about the hurricanes one either. Getting Karlsson/Whitecloud or ORielly/Barbashev would be decent gets though. And the one Vancouver should be pushing most for is the PLD one. He has a lot of potential to be better than Horvat and he is younger.
I don't think Dubois would have any desire to sign longterm in Vancouver.
If the Canucks even gave those trade a second look would be a big fat lose in a Bo trade.
I'm a Jets fan in Winnipeg. I really like the idea of Dubois for Horvat. Obviously, each would have to want to sign in the new city, but if that was the case, I'd do that trade. Although, I think the Canucks would have to give up a little bit more, since Dubois is 5 years younger. Maybe add in a 2nd. Not sure.
Dude, no SHOT that ANY team is touching KK with a 10 foot pole. Also bo is NOT good defensively and William Karlsson is VERY good defensively… you gotta watch more hockey and read less hockey articles. Much love tho!
Depending on Norris's injury, I would want the Senators to go after him with a package including Brannstrom, & Ostapchuk and a conditional 2024 draft pick. 1rst rounder if the Senators resign him, 2nd rounder if he walks. The Senators can even sweeten the trade by taking Tyler Myers in exchange for Nikita Zaitsev which would give the Canucks $1.5M in cap space next year.
For this to work, Norris would have to stay on LTIR or Vancouver would have to retain 50% as Ottawa only has roughly $2.4M in cap space.
Ottawa has a chance to start pushing up the standings this month (three games against Detroit, two against Washington; Minnesota, Winnipeg and Boston rounding it out), and if they do, they really need to fix their center depth if they have any hope of making a legitimate playoff push. Having Brassard as your number 1 center isn't going to cut it for long and you don't want the likes of Stutzle or Norris rushing back from their respective injuries.
Montreal reject the Dubois trade
As a Blues fan I take that trade in a heartbeat. Loved O'Reilly since his early days in Colorado but this team doesn't sign a lot of guys 30 and over to multi year deals even if they are a major piece (Backes, Pietrangelo, and Perron come to mind). Might as well get something back for him if they can't work a deal out instead of losing a major piece to the free market for nothing.
Mikkola is fine but not irreplaceable and now is as good a time as ever to try and sell high on Barbashev given the year he had. I can't see him shooting over 20% much less the 23% he had last year.
Instead of Pesce and JK from Carolina I would like to see something like Necas and Morrow as a return

And Pierre-Luc Dubois is going home to Montreal. So neither PLD or Horvat sign long term with either Vancouver or Winnipeg.
And why would St Louis move on from Ryan O'Reiily for a more expensive Bo Horvat? Most of these trades are a joke and aren't happening. Rentals don't have these kind of values SMDH.

Not a fan of Kotkaniemi at all. He's had a difficult enough time in a quiet market, imagine how horrible it could be in Vancouver. While Pesce is decent, I'd ask for Scott Morrow and a '23 1st, at a minimum. Ideally, I'd love to see a blockbuster along the lines of Horvat for Slavin, with any other applicable items needed. No way Carolina is giving up Slavin, unless it's for straight up for Matthews or McDavid.
One potential one that that I think would be interesting is Horvat going to the Islanders. In exchange, they'd probably ask for something like Wahlstrom, Dobson and a '23 1st. Dobson might be a tad young in his career for NYI to move on from, so 2nd choice would be Pulock. But as we all know, FA wants playoff revenue, so they'll probably hold on to Horvat and lose him for 0 in free agency.
Why the fuck do they want roster players and not picks/prospects? I hate* this team yet somehow I’m a fan. I’m leaning more towards the young exciting teams in the league now- love Habs, Sabers, Redwings, and , Ducks. Man the other Conor will look great with Zegras.
Trading for current players like this management group apparently want to do would be the worst decision and Trade in the last two decades of this organization. Worse than the OEL trade. It’s such a stupid idea. Refusing to get worse in the short term and do even a slight rebuild is so short sighted and dumb. This core, with no prospects, no cap space, and an awful defensive core, will never win a thing and will only stay mediocre. They need a complete overhaul of the roster and organization. This management group is honestly worse than Benning so far and I’m afraid the Canucks are doomed to be terrible forever with them refusing to do a rebuild and tank. The only way to fix this team and make a consistent playoff team and cup contender is to tear it down and rebuild with a plan. The Canucks have never had a stretch of being good like so many other teams have, like Pittsburg, Boston, Chicago in the 2010s, Tampa, Colorado, St Louis, Washington, etc. the reason teams like Chicago and Pittsburg were so dominant is because they did a full rebuild at one point. It looks like Canucks fans are stuck with another decade of mediocrity until they inevitably realize what needs to be done and blow it up. Why not skip that shit, get Bedard or Fantilli or whoever in the top 5 of the draft, and do things right so that in 5 or 6 years, we will have a cup contender and not just some second round exit.
Not trading for picks and prospects is so frustrating. Another management team that won’t or can’t initiate a full rebuild.

Seattle trade is garbage for the Canucks. Wennberg has negative value, Borgen is worth a 4th at best, Donato has no value. Canucks would want Jagger Firkus and a 1st or something like that
St. Louis trade makes no sense. Canucks don't want to trade for other rentals, which all of ROR, Mikkola Barbashev are, they can just wait to bid for both on the open market. Canucks would want Zachary Bolduc/Jimmy Snuggerud plus a 1st
That's defenitely not an overpayment for Vegas. Karlsson's been inconsistent the last couple of years, we don't even know if and I'm not sure that the Golden Knights would be willing to move him for Horvat anyway. Canucks would want Brendan Brisson, Nicolas Roy/Zach Whitecloud + a 1st
Why would the Hurricanes trade Brett Pesce? Not even sure the Canucks would even consider acquiring Pesce as a worthwhile sweetener for Kotkaniemi

Even if they did make the playoffs why would it matter? If they were to get in, they would barley skirt in as the wildcard spot in the west, which are most likely gonna be behind the points of the teams that missed the playoffs in the east. Meaning they’re not gonna be that great. I mean currently Vancouver is behind Montreal who is 5 points and 5 spots out of a playoff spot.
Also who would want kk? The man is playing beside two guys who can put up points and he is on pace for 19 (9 of which being secondary assists) points in 82 games. That’s numbers that even defencemen would be disappointed at with that cap hit.
What does Bo’s next contract look like, 7-8 years at 8-10M? You can count VGK out, they aren’t giving up that much for a rental.

KK is disappointing, so Horvat to Carolina will push the canes to the top. But they need to give up a RH defenceman that Canucks are looking for. Pesce sounds reasonable.
son of Wayne's World or McKenzie Brothers, you're starting from wrong original premises. No one is giving Horvat 8 to 10m. No one has cap space. Nucks will have to take back salary for picks. It's standard for pending UFAs to play out the season, only rental trades at deadline are for picks. Horvat and 'playoff run' have never been in the same sentence. Teams tanking are hardly looking to upgrade. So, which middling team has a log jam of picks and prospects – and cap space?
Anyone wanting Horvat needs to take OEL as well.

The St. Louis trade and Seattle trade is a no way.If it a divisional trade then Edmonton would be my recommendation for Zach Hyman throw in a first from Edmonton plus a prospect. Tell me what you think,this is off the top of my head,I havent added it up at all so some tweaking would be required
