Wouldn't be surprised if Larkin wants to explore other options. This team is no where near a playoff team, and I can't even imagine how long till they look to even compete for a cup. If I'm Larkin I'd much rather be a 2C on a cup contending team than 1C on a team rebuilding for the next 3-4 years still.
Caps Third goal was like OT deja vu all over again… Larkin gassed, gave the puck away, should've got off the ice…. did not… annnnd goal… I think that was the only WTF screaming moment of the game for me. It was a good showing for the guys we have out. Just too many shifts with guys with no legs. Spurts of horrid, leaky defense that Husso bailed out over and over again. The offense was capitalized on despite playing a seemingly unnecessarily guarded game. It wasn't a bad game all in all – just sucks with the result. Personally, i wouldn't have given a flying f if Ovechkin came out with 801 so long as we had the W – that's me though!
Gotta start generating more in the o-zone. Feels like only way we score is a lucky shot from the point or the occasional 2 on 1. In the o zone it's just cycle until we lose the battle and the puck's out.
Ok, Lalonde is way too positive about their play. I appreciate his calm and realistic outlook, but at a certain point we have to call this what it is – bad hockey. The Wings are playing bad hockey.
Outshot 42-19. Struggling to generate scoring chances, to move up the ice quickly, to even get the puck out of the defensive zone. There's a reason we're losing, and it can't be because we don't have Vrana and Bertuzzi. Not when this team has looked so weak in the 3rd against Tampa, against the Panthers, against the Hurricanes, the Wild, and now the Capitals. We look like a bottom 5 team.
If its not one things another. Look good on 5on5 bit the special teams suck. Look good on special teams but then the 5on5 sucks. Look good in the o-zone but cant get them ours. Its like the team can only focus on 1 part of the game all night and thats it. Then the next game is something else but only focus on that. Why cant they apply it all that theve learned and play better ALL AROUND game. Im not asking for a Stanley Cup right now but come on already. Our special teams are so predictable, WE ALWAYS DUMP AND CHASE!!!!!, and 90% we just give it back to them Enough of the dang dump chase crap
We have reached the point that other teams are playing thier game and clicking. And we are struggling with identity and healthy line up. I like Rass on the wing. Loved our 1st period play just have to run with that momentum. Losses with points are still good.
Your defense is downright pathetic and even how long it is taking for you to develop your defense is stupid. How did we even play that well during their first 20-25 games if the season when our defense clearly was clearly not close to perfect for all those games because simply because our defenceman want to be idiots and cant remember what their job is.
