  1. "Still saw a lot of those odd-man rushes that have reared their ugly head in this past losing streak. Devils gotta clean up that defensive game."

I don't think those two things are directly connected. The odd-man rushes often come from our Dmen making mistakes, but those mistakes are almost always in the offensive zone. Bad passes, turnovers, poor reads on when to pinch or making mistakes with the puck when they pinch. They are being a little too aggressive especially considering the guys doing it. It seems like ALL of the Dmen are coached to be super aggressive. I don't want to see Smith pinching unless it's one of those obvious times when the puck is headed towards him in completely open space so he has enough time to make a good decision with the puck. Marino (this is why he has that weak GSVA) isn't much better. A lot of our goals against aren't really the result of defensive mistakes highlighting how decision making with the puck will always be the most important skill. Luckily we have a bunch of players who do it well, but i think the D are being asked to do too much. I know a lot of our game comes from them activating offensively, but i think they are being too risky. When it works out you go 19-2-1 +45 goal diff. When it doesn't you go 0-5-1 -12gd. Notice how feast or famine it is. A lot of risk results in a lot of volatility.

  2. Scotty, you an analyst now? You trying to tell the boys what they need to do to play better? Gato and chill bro
