  1. I miss the old barn!
The place used to vibrate when everyone was cheering!
I was at the first regular season game at the arena that season, and the Jets put on a real cool laser light show!

  2. I know there were circumstances that resulted in the Jets moving, but it's truly a shame that the team was moved to a city that doesn't care about hockey… It still astonishes me that the NHL and Gary Bettman have put teams in areas that still don't understand the game and don't support their teams….

And the best part is Bettman won't let anyone move Phoenix back to Canada where that team belongs and where they'll actually have a real and knowledgeable fan base….

    Go Wings!!

  3. Im a lifelong Bruins fan, but i am sorry for the fans of Winnepeg, canada loves the game of hockey and didnt deserve this,, they move this team to the Desert? where 10 people total have ever ice skated? such a shame, i wish the fans of Winny Get a team that they Deserve….

  4. i think every province in canada should at least have one hockey team i mean come on now it's their game

  5. And why did they move to Phoenix?

It is sad that the NHL forgets its roots. This is why it deserves the problems it has. Gary Bettman needs to be fired as commissioner. He has made the league and sport something no one in america is interested in. Seriously, people in North Carolina, Tennesse, and Columbus know nothing about hockey.

  6. im a blues fan and we have the best fans as said by most nhl players and the reason i don't want the jets to come back is that it looks like we could lose the best fan competition it looks like winnipeg has some great fans but overall i wan to see the jets back in the NHL over the coyotes. I mean…. Coyotes? as a ICE HOCKEY TEAM MASCOT?! Its not a hockey name! i want to see the jets come back it would be great for the NHL and for the city of Winnipeg

  7. @bluejacketsman86 Sadly, it has been demolished and is currently a parking lot for Canad Inns Stadium, currently home of the CFL Blue Bombers.

    GO JETS GO

  8. Watching this makes me cry. Why, because Jets fans are amazing and loyal and it was a crime to move them. I'm a Wings fan and watching that playoff series in 96 was so hard because I wanted to see Detroit win but I wanted to see them lose also because I wanted the Jets to win the Stanley Cup in their final season. Hopefully the NHL will allow a franchise in Winnipeg again.

  9. @banananutpie7 didn't they sell out every game? it was just the crappy arena and the falling canadian dollar, I think.

  10. Winnipeg folks: I'm a Leafs fan to the core; but when they 'ripped' the JETS out of Winnipeg, I was outraged. I had and always will have a very 'soft spot' for the Winnipeg Jets. There's TONS upon TONS of TML fans who wants the Jets back in the PEG! Trust me: if you folks don't sell out the opening game: we'll do it for you! With LOVE!

  11. WInnipeg has a team again!! Can't wait to see them play!!! I was 1 when they left, and can't wait to see them play, atmosphere going to be insane at nice MTS center, and even just watching on TV!!

  12. I was in that crowd that night. It really was amazing.
I was 14 then. Now I'm nearly 30 and the Jets are playing the first game of their return to Winnipeg as I type this.
    Welcome home guys!

  13. I actually miss that arena and enjoyed going to the games there. I can't wait to be at the opening game against Montreal!
