Im more than fine in getting 2 top 10 picks in this draft. Suzuki is gonna get it rough until game 82, but a bright futur is ahead of the habs.

Can you imagine all the habs fans and how they would react if Florida won, or should I say “lost” the draft lottery? Especially if montreals 1st became a top 5 or better a top 3
What's alarming with the Panthers, is that the season will only get worse for many reasons.
First, they don't have anybody on IR, beside Duclair, waiting to come back and help the team. The team, as it is right now, is 95% healthy and they are still performing like shit.
Second, they wont get better at the trade deadline since they have 0 cap space and 0 trade value.
They don't have anymore assets to trade because of the last 2-3 years. Their prospects pool is empty, they have 0 first round pick and the only valuable assets are, 2nd round pick this year and in 2025, Matt Samoskevich and Evan Nause and even then, those guys are "B" prospect, nothing wow.
I don't expect the Panthers to fall bottom 5. But bottom 10 is realistic and "bottom 16 out of playoffs" is pretty much already 90% confirmed.

As a Florida Panthers fan that lives in South Florida, it’s the most frustrating feeling being a fan of my local NHL Team; from being a team with so much promise of winning The Stanley Cup to seeing them Spiraling into a tailspin with a completely lousy bum of a coach named Paul Maurice with his delusional approach of “Defense Playoff Hockey”.
And the fact that they got finessed off of a potential Generational Talent that could help them in the long run, But NOOOOOOOOO, we have to get veteran players that are DAMAGED GOODS. I hate my life.
I swear, The next four years for this franchise is gonna be like an VERY LONG Episode of Euphoria (so much more spiraling, more tension in the ranks, and so much drama).

I could see Montreal doing a lindros style trade giving up 3, 1st prospects and roster players to move up and get Bedard. Montreal has the picks and prospects to make this happen .
This happened to the Leafs when they traded their first pick away for Tom Kurver from New Jersey.
Toronto was fighting for last place against Quebec, who still owned their first pick.
Quebec decided to trade some of their better roster players to Toronto for picks and prospects so Toronto could move up in the standings and Quebec could fall faster.
It worked, Quebec drafted Lindros and New Jerseys pick was third overall, Scott Neidermayer. He was still a great player though.
I expect one of the teams fighting for last place to make a similar deal with Florida if they continue to dip in the standings

Not really sure how or why a gm in this day and age doesn’t add in lottery protection. Would the trade really not have happened if the gm said, oh, and the first overall is top 5 protected.

As of right now, there's a 5% chance that the Panthers give Bédard to Montréal.
The canadiens already have terrible defense I cant even imagine how the defense will become with bedard.What is the point of having so much offensive power when they cant even get the puck out of their zone.
The Florida Panthers this year are chronic underachievers, and I’m shocked more people aren’t talking about it, especially considering they were presidents winners last year, just proves how irrelevant they truly are. If they continue to be this bad with how many firsts they gave up the franchise is basically dead. Move the team Gary, just visited Quebec City and they deserve the Nordiques back.
