    tarasenko is so much better if healthy like even 70 games would be unreal,he even produces in his short injury years although i feel like we offer a trade once saad says no to the deal we offer him or something.

    I don’t think the devils managers want tarasenko , he’s too much of a risk that can hurt the team in terms of not playing everyday

    I feel Saad would be looking for term, and the Devils are not in a position to commit to that at a high salary. With Tarasenko, they know what they're getting for the short term, and would allow them to sign another vet short term as well, say a Parise type guy… (Imagine a Parise/Hischier or Hughes/Tarasenko line). After that, the youngsters will be better prepared to step into bigger roles. Also, if injuries do persist with Tarasenko, he's placed on ltir, and someone else can be brought in at trade deadline to fill the void if they are playoff bound.

    the fear is cost. is it cost in term for saad or is it cost in acquisition for tarasenko

    I would actually be okay if the Devils would Further Extend the Contracts for Zacha, Bratt and Miles Wood. I believe they're all going to continue to improve and would rather be paying them a little more now than A Lot more later

    I'm not really sold on either. I don't think the Devils need to be married to a long term deal with Saad, even if they do need some toughness up front. Tarasenko needs to prove he can stay healthy so maybe NJ is the place to do it. Might be easier to resign him later if necessary. I think the Devils have time to figure it out, to try things out, and to promote from within. Holtz is in the wings too.

    Personally I hope you take Tarasenko like he is a great player when healthy and decides to come to work that day and work. He is an A-Typical regular season numbers guy but totally disappears in the playoffs.
