La saison des recrues de Juraj Slafkovsky se passait mal… et puis C’est arrivé. Bonjour les gars, bienvenue à nouveau !     His development was ok he started on the fourth line and he eventually climbed the lineup on the second line. Even if he was drafted 1st overall his sealing isn't really to become a superstar but to become a good and big first line player. He was progressing consistently during the year even if the points weren't coming. Also since Monahan got injured, beside suzuki, all of the others center in Mtl aren't playing well. Josh Anderson, Monahan and Slafkovsky are probably our best next 3 forward after Suzuki Dach Caufield. This injury is unfortunate, but those things can happens in hockey at any level.

    It is sketchy comparing Laf (NA player) with Slaf(EU player). Plus I think NHLers are more willing to hit him hard due to his size. Slaf will become a one of his kind player imo.

    guy has already olympic bronze medal, was Mvp, was drafted first, he achieved all this things before 18. And now is playing for one of the biggest hockey clubs. this is decent start in his career I think. 😀 many people here saying he is bust are probably fat and live with their parents and work in mcdonald.

    Far from brutal. he's playing oh a shitty team, and the eye test says his game decisions are noticeably improving.

    i do not agree , i think Slaf is developing very well , he s learning more with the big boys , he has no time to waste in the AHL , imho

    Slafkovsky will be absolute stud, it was mistake not sent him to Juniors, where he had winning team with high moral and fighting Spirit instead Canadiens are absolutly bad team this year they will want to have chance for bedard so they will tank. People forget he is 18 and it's team game and when you see how they play you understand why he can not be succesful from the start. Not even talking about he get 15 min in 3 games he is one of the Best players on the ice than another game out of nowhere he playes 4th line with guys who rather send puck to corner than try to attack. Try it with Coufield how he will feel and play in the season don't even have 18….

    I hope they send him to Laval where he can dominate or send him to the chl. If you compare his rookie season to Leon’s they are quite similar I still see a lot of upside and you can see the improvement he has made since the beginning of the season.

    Can people please have patience god the second he was getting second line minutes with Monahan he went down just a season of unfortunate events for him he’s been great of you’d care to watch the games but the team around him has been god awful. Slafkovsky is a Project and a result of the team.

    Im not sure the whole year was a "110% bust", but i do agree that he should have gone to the WJC, when they interviewed Nemec later, he said, "I know if Slafkovsky would have been there, he would have scored for us in OT!!" I love that he instills that confidence in his teammates. I think he's learned a lot this year, and things are starting to look up for him, well at least they were before the injury. He has to learn to keep his head up, although that wouldnt have helped with this injury, just bad luck i think.

    His strengths are his size and his shot….against 18 year olds they are clear advantages; against full grown men not so much. He is going to be a good player in the nhl, maybe not a superstar, but I don’t see many superstars coming from the 2022 draft.

    i feel like Slafkovsky going 1st overall may be something that Montreal may regret in a few years

    Since he was being compared to Rantanen when drafted, as big winger, it is worthwhile noting that Rantanen started out as:
    15-16 9GP 0P
    16-17: 75GP 38P
    and then it just clicked in 17-18 for 81GP 84P

    Juraj will brake through this. He has his head in the right place. Just give him time and all it needs is one brake through game and it's done. Unless the Habs decide to keep giving him 4th line ice time that is.

    I am from Slovakia and i was so disappointed when Montreal said hes not going to WJC. Terrible decision …i mean …there were All players from draft and All stars for draft 2023 so why would they do this…what a shame
