Absolutely nothing. At this point in the season they are not in a playoff spot, they won't ever get in the playoffs this year, and yet they continue to ruin their chances at Bedard, Michkov, Fantilli, Leo, lmfao.. It makes virtually no sense, and I know it's not Ricks fault, but the management in Vancouver is just atrocious.
Tocchet?? what did they get? a Degenerate Gambler…
On February 6, 2006, Tocchet was served with a criminal complaint, accused of financing a nationwide sports gambling ring based in New Jersey in which several current NHL players wagered.[17] The ring was discovered by New Jersey state police, in the undercover investigation Operation Slapshot. "It's not a hockey-related issue, it's a football thing. And at this time I can't comment any further," Tocchet told The Arizona Republic after the Coyotes practiced on February 7, 2006.[18]
On May 8, 2006, attorneys for Tocchet and Gretzky's wife Janet Jones filed notices in New Jersey that they intended to sue the state for $50 million each for defamation. Both Tocchet and Jones claimed to have lost business opportunities in the wake of the state's investigation, which had sullied their reputations.[19]
On August 3, 2006, former New Jersey state trooper James Harney pleaded guilty to conspiracy, promoting gambling, and official misconduct, and promised to help authorities with their case against Tocchet and others. Harney said that he and Tocchet were 50–50 partners in the betting ring.[20]
On May 25, 2007, Tocchet pleaded guilty to conspiracy and promoting gambling. New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram announced on August 17, 2007, that Tocchet had been sentenced to two years probation in exchange for his plea. He could have received up to five years in New Jersey state prison, but there is a presumption against incarceration for first-time offenders who plead guilty to such crimes. [21]
Love the player Recchi. That was a bunch of nonsense
If you drink a shot for every „you know“ you will be dead after a minute, you know.
More engagement and tougher mentality in the locker room
Glad they interviewed Mark Recchi, a guy who couldn’t care less about the Canucks.
this was, you know, perhaps, you know, the most interesting thing, you know, I've ever listened to
Hopefully wins so they move up in standing.
They’re going to do well at the start like most teams do when a new coach comes in. After that he’ll trail off, he’s been a head coach for years and never did anything. He’s a good assistant which is what he should have stuck with
He's going to bring this thing where the players and fans both hate him. And the media.
You can be a team that's hard to play against when you have guys like Tocchet and Recchi on your roster – in the 90s. But if your roster is full of guys who have never played that way before, you've got a personnel problem, not a coaching problem. When you have guys like Pettersson, who is built like a twig, throwing hits, there's a huge risk he's going to hurt himself more than his opponent. Sure, it looks great. You've got a skilled player who wants it so badly that he's getting out of his comfort zone, but it's even worse than when I cringed watching Jarome Iginla fight. Sure, he could do it, and it might temporarily amp up the team, but you don't want your captain and leading scorer sitting for 5 minutes in the penalty box or worse, injuring himself. That's not Elias' game anyway. He's more of Datsyuk type of player. Every team needs all types of players to be successful. They don't need guys all trying to be the same and half of them being something they're not, or you'll get nowhere. Jacques Lemaire was an excellent coach. But he also coached teams that didn't have a ton of finesse. Those Devils and Wild teams were incredibly hard to play against, but they had to be, because they weren't going to outscore you. They played the Trap to a T because they had to and they had the right make up on the roster for it. But can you imagine the Oilers of the 80s trying to play that way? I'm not at all comparing the Canucks to the 80s Oilers. They at least had Kevin Lowe, Charlie Huddy and Steve Smith. We've got Luke Schenn. In his 30s.
walk it like i tocchet
He will not bring much he should be banned from the league as they black ball kids in junior for screwing up lol the NHL is a joke with the clown running the league
A sponge for boos? "They're booing Rick, not me!"
Rick Tocchet is not the answer for this team. This will be another three to five years of aimlessness; not good enough to make the playoffs, but not bad enough to win the draft lottery.
With his great coaching record don’t expect much. Just because you were an NHL player doesn’t make you a NHL coach. Canucks need to clean house this summer axe Rutherford, Allvin and Tocchet start fresh. Gain confidence.
Bruce b did not get that pleasure yet shows that management did not want him as coach
But the new coach has some very easy games coming up
The players know they have to be accountable. Chemistry is crucial. Trades are made if necessary, on any team,
not just the Canucks.
They are going to be worse than the Arizona Coyotes both times when Rick Tockett coached….pray for Canucks 🙏
Tocchet's gonna bring the Canucks a cu- oh wait
A slightly better winning percentage and out of the Bedard sweepstakes?
He does bring a wealth of gambling experience to the team.
Rick Tocchett brings a history of coaching winning teams …..NOT . Toc as you call him has exactly zero winning seasons as a head coach . This team is a sad pathetic joke , they replaced a guy who has been a winner in 10 of his 14 season including a cup coaching NHL teams with a guy who has done nothing but lose , way to go .
He's not gonna make a difference. He'll do decent and it'll fall apart all over again.
Nothing. He's another coach with his own ideas. He's been told to bring structure but that's not his directive it's Rutherford's.
