I really don’t think that Buffalo is out of the picture entirely. A stretch sure but they could use him and I think that ending your career in a place you love, like Buffalo, and being on ateam that with the right push (someone like Kane maybe) could reach playoffs.

Buffalo is not in a playoff position, so likely will not be that aggressive to add a rental. He's still in control, so can go to FA and choose his landing spot. The Islanders have also did their big deal, so perhaps NJD?
As a Buffalo fan I would love to see him here—but I just don’t think we have the balls to pull the trigger on a kind of a deal for that kinda $…I honestly could see him going to Boston I don’t know why, but I can just see him ending up in Beantown! 🫘

Playoffs push wise if we aren't thinking about the major teams who could be spending U$D for him… why not Toronto or Winnipeg? Toronto wants that push over the first round (granted the cap hit but you can get rid of a few assets for a late season rental and send rights to another team. Winnipeg is also a surprisingly excellent idea where you see how good those lines are and can see a power player like Kane disrupt McDavid or McKinnon. The thing is USD talks stronger than CAD so of anything it's money amd stability or a single year rental cup run wherever he goes
How about the Dallas Stars. They had shown an interest in Kane before the season started and would be a good fit with a veteran team.
I would love to see Kane go to Vegas, but I can't see a way they can make that happen unless they move a lot of pieces

My crazy prediction: LA KINGS. They are fighting for a Wild Card spot. They have $3M in cap space so they would have to be creative to figure that side of it. They have 1 more season with Quick. If they are going to go for it, they need a big trade ASAP.

If he wants to be a ranger he can make a cap friendly deal in off season to the rangers. I wanted him as a ranger fan but Chicago asked too much and the hip issue didn't help, that said what the rangers gave up for tarasenko made that deal better, I figured if it was for kane Chicago would've wanted a young talented prospect that would be a mistake to give up for an aging player with a guaranteed rental, tarasenko will be near impossible to sign without cap issues so he is pretty obviously a rental given rangers need to ink deals for extentions with Miller, chytil, and lafreniere with very little cap space. That said im happy Drury made that trade and has done amazing so far, especially last trade deadline. If it was Sather he would've traded chytil kakko and lafreniere for kane lol. So far Drury has done better deals than Gorton, but I really am happy he didn't fuck things up that Gorton helped with steering the franchise away from the Sather dark ages.

My guess is that New Jersey might go for Kane. They could have a real shot this year, so he would make a nice addition.
As a Ranger fan I prefer Tarasenko over Kane – and for all Ranger and non Ranger fans speculating on what the reuniting of Panarin and Kane would be like – oh the sheer magic they would make -I would point out Panarin's best year was not with Kane – but as a NY Ranger (and in less games mind you ) .

Chicago is dumb if they don’t deal this guy there’s no way he resigns you gotta take the best offer you can get or you get nothing there’s no in between.
I think Kane stays till the resign phase, gets a more flexible contract then is dealt.
Unless someone is actively on the phone with the Hawks, its hard to see him being picked up as a rental at his cap hit even with money retained.
