Leafs Need to be able to push most of the 3rd line down to the 4th, which would entail at least 2 top 6 forwards. One forward won’t do it, they need to be able to get the 3rd and 4th line better. As for Nies you can easily move him and get a great return. It’s always a 50/50 shot, with a to draft pick and just because he’s a man among boys in College, there’s No boys in the NHL and a lot more bigger and faster than him.

Ideally they should add depth in the bottom 6 forwards, like Domi from Chicago or Bertuzzi from Detroit.
Connor Timmons to a two year contract deal? I hope they teach him how to play defensively IMMEDIATELY. Prior to this news today, he has only played offensively and he gets himself into trouble when he is around the net and then he costs us about a goal a game. I cannot believe Connor has been signed. I hope this works out. I am worried.

Kyle has no contract. Half of the team are UFA's next year. Mathews will likely bet on himself, and not extend his contract meaning next year could be his last in Canada. . Kyle's best move is trade a few # 1s Drafts, and go for it this year.
