  1. I really admire that Rick won't just shoot his mouth off on a player just to get a soundbite. If there's no smoke, he's not manufacturing it artificially. That's how a journalist should be. But as far as this Schenn thing goes, there's a way around it. Obviously trading a guy when he's expecting a kid isn't ideal, but you go to his agent, explain what the team situation is, and come up with a tentative deal like has been done before with many other players at the deadline. You trade them for something, anything, and then in the offseason, you bring them back. Then Schenn perhaps gets a chance at another Cup and we get him back next year. Granted, he's probably not going to be thrilled with that if it means not being around for his kid's birth, but it's a tough situation. This is business, not personal. The Canucks already have a reputation for not caring about the personal stuff at all, so what difference will this make?

  2. Demko is finished as a Canuck. Luke Scheen should be brought back as Captainnext year for 1.2 mil. Move Hoglander , he is not part of the future.

  3. Even if the team doesn't get 1st overall pick, I'm just hoping they get a top 5 placing in this apparent deep draft. Play well and lose is fine for this season, especially in regulation.

  4. Canucks should consider changing all medical staffs, how can they let injured players continue to play and end up in LTIR. Unbelievable

  5. Hoglander is undersized, ineffective and redundant on this team.

  6. and they shouldn't have traded Tyler Motte either… and kept all 3 of those 4th liners from last year.

PS sign Schenn to a reasonable extension and let him retire here you'll gain a management/coaching/scouting asset after he retires and thats probably what Luke wants more than anything to stay with the organization after he's done. sign him for 1 million a season and promise him a spot in the office after he's done and he'll gladly stay
