@Islanders de New York

1. He has a lot of tools, but he doesn't seem to know how to put the puck in the net. I'm referring to the new guy they just acquired.

  2. I think the Islanders should hire Ken Morrow, who has coaching experience, to help mentor Noah Dobson on the defensive end. Just a thought.

  3. I've been following Dufour since he returned to Bridgeport, and he's been on fire. Eleven points in his last eight games. The Islanders should bring him up.

  4. gill always great up to date info. I actually like the trade big dude fast skater can move the puck. better than bailey, ross and holmstrom, good bottom 6 forward.

  5. HI Gil. Disappointing but expected move. Is it lou's goal to accumulate as many bottom sixers as possible? And to keep the isles treading in the mud with every move as east teams improve themselves in every way? And typical isle one pt. loss. One regulation goal. No ot/shoot out goals. Another reason isles will fall short of the playoffs. Hey lou how about a skilled forward who can score in ot or a shoot out? Isles now clinging to a one pt. lead over now hot pens who have 4 gms in hand. Cats won, 4 pts. behind with two games in hand. At least wings (4 in hand 6 pts. behind) and sabres (5 in hand 4 pts. behind) both lost. Now sens are tied with det, buff, and caps with 64 pts. I'm done lou ranting. I'm out of here. Lou might as well have traded for bill engvall instead and called it quits. So disappointing moves like these don't move the needle one bit nor matter for playoffs when isles aren't gonna be there. Hopefully the wheels just fall off after tdl and isles are left in no mans land once again and no first in a deep draft as lou holds onto his ufa's like fine china.
    OF NOTE-la kings just got gavrikov and korpisalo from cbj for g quick. Another rumoured chychrun team makes a d move. And az. was the third team in the kane deal getting conditional third to retain 25% of kane deal after hawks kept 50% of deal and proving once again az's only use to nhl is as a dumping ground for cap strapped teams to dump salary there. Pretty funny since yotes want to build a new arena on a garbage landfill.

  6. I hate the shootout. No team should lose a point based on a skills competition

  7. What makes Lou’s son so competent to (POSSIBLY) take the reigns in Long Island, currently managing a SEVENTH PLACE TEAM in the AHL? Can someone please answer that?

  8. Glad you're pointing out the fact that Dobson and Aho should never be on the ice together. Idk why people are so high on Dobson, he's terrible defensively and he gambles a lot.

  9. Geez, Lou is out of his mind. He gives up a 3rd round pick for yet another low scoring forward, and this one is a rental. WTF is he thinking? If this isn't a setup for a bigger trade, he should be fired before he gets the chance to sign this guy to yet another overpaid, underperforming long term contract. This #@$% turd of a GM has stripped our AHL club of assets to the point this is what he considers an improvement. How many picks has he traded away now? We're going to be screwed for years to come.

  10. So frustrated with the loss last night. At this point when the game goes to a shootout I turn it off because I know the Islanders can’t win in a shootout situation. Congrats to the Minnesota goalie though, he played a helluva game.

  11. Pierre has the tools to be a very good player, he just seemed to have a mental block that only lets it all come together 1/3 of the time. If he gets a boost of confidence from the change of scenery he could be great for you guys. If someone in your dressing room could get him to play angry a bit more that’d help too.

  12. The shoot out problems are indicative of a greater problem. It ties inperfectly with their inability to capitalize on turn overs/break aways which also has been abysymal. Their lack of ability to score as a complete team for the most part is a major component of why they are where they are right now. I call it insanity (doing things the same way and expecting a different result). I wish they couldl egularly enter the zone driving the center with proper spacing and even the defense jumping up on the rush. They tried it a bit early on but gave up too quickly to see any real longer term upside. I think the dump and jump play is designed for low scoring game play. If the opposing team manages to break the defense a bit the Isles start playing desparate and then the mistakes increase and more frustrating they double down on chip and chase. The team has not been good at adjustment to the game out of what apepars to me to be fear based. Lots of mental breakdowns have cuased many a loss this season. Both by player and coaching IMHO.

  13. I have to say and it drives me insane but the rangers went out and got terensenko and Kane. When they want something they make it happen. Islanders having Lou as gm didn’t change anything. Players don’t want to come here and Lou is clueless. By the time he retires islanders won’t have any draft picks. Engvall sounds like a taller version beauvillier.

  14. So glad I found this channel! Really loving the daily updates and news. Thank you, Gil!

  15. Lou acquires another 12 goal scorer-YEAH. Go and get 'em lou. Now bj's got quick and are gonna flip him to vgk or pens who hex had in la leaving isles with varly. Pat yourself on that one too lou. Pens in on boeser/j t/chychrun (along with caps) too. I guess hextall took the 'FIRE HEXTALL' chants serious as lou gathers more bottom sixers. Lou would make a good hunter/gatherer.

  16. DEAR GIL: DO THE ISLANDERS HAVE ENOUGH TO BEAT THE RANGERS AND TO BEAT CAROLINA? IF ALL THEY DID WAS BEAT THE RANGERS I AM SATISFIED AT THIS POINT BECAUSE I AM NOT VERY HAPPY ABOUT THE RANGER FANS BRAGGING ABOUT HOW THEY ARE GOING TO SWEEP THE ISLANDERS AND WIN THE CUP.

  17. He's got some nice skills and a crazy long reach and stick. He can be frustrating because he has so much size but no grit or physicality to his game. As a Leafs fan I didn't mind Engvall., he's a good bottom 6 guy.
