  1. The Kings had no choice. They won tonight, but their goalie gave up 3 goals he shouldn't have. Copley is a good backup. Quick had to go to make the money work. The Kings have a real shot at coming out of the west in the finals. I don't think they're done, and I don't think this means the Chychrun deal is dead. But they could use another gritty winger on the left side or another center that can score. What happens if they get Bertuzzi?

  2. I don't like this Trade at all. Quick sent to a team who is like last in NHL. Instead of getting Chicken they got another scrub who can't play in NHL. ONce they signed Mediocre Mikey for 33M at 8 years Franchise was done for next Decade. Rob Blake Giving the Middle Finger to LA. Sharks like him along with TMac managed to trade or run off every single player from the 2014 Cup Team. Anze is entering last year of his 10M debacle with 4 Goals in game having like best game since Knights opening night when had 5 points breaking record. JQ at least was a chance he could Win Playoff Game like last year. Drew Doughty is the only other person from the Jeff Carter 2 Stanley Cup Teams. Brown should have been traded last year. Not Quick This Year eh.

  3. Nah you can’t do this to a legend to your franchise. He earned the right to retire a King just like Brown. If the team crumbles after this, bust of a season.

  4. 5:54:50 Can we just take a minute to appreciate how much time and effort was placed into these videos?
It is unbelievable, and I think they justify more than that!

  5. Pretty bummed about this, but Quick hasnt been on his game in awhile now. He was probably going to retire after his contract ended with the Kings.

  6. My 2 cents?….This was a trade to make a trade…..Johnny Quick is not uprooting his whole life to be on a non playoff team at this stage of his career… Quick will be traded again by Friday in an even bigger deal.

  7. Unbelievable. This is so wrong in so many ways.
This is bad timing to say the least. We are on our way to the playoffs and now just weeks after Blake says he doesn’t want to ruin the chemistry of the team, he does just that. Wtg.

  8. Oh damn. I was almost certain the Canucks wouldn’t trade Demko but now I kinda have a feeling the kings are going to pay a Kings ransom for him and Canucks won’t be able to turn it down. Wow I was really hoping to keep him but if the kings give us Byfield and a D prospect I’d take that. Lol

  9. 😮This is horrible for Kings fans😫Even though he was rumored to be traded for last few years now but then he saved their bacon last year so I was hoping he would retire as a King and have one more playoff push in him but dang, not in the cards. Quickie is a Legend in Los Angeles and will go down as the best goalie in franchise history no doubt and a cinch for the hall of fame. Thanks for the breaking news Lego. On the bright side I look forward to adding two solid players to the team and Copley has been doing too good to not get at least half the starts left.

  10. life long LA Kings fan and im shocked. I have to think there is something else brewing. Likely more moves coming. would not be surprised if Quick goes to a contender before the deadline Friday. Kings still need some grit. but needles to say, this is not my favorite move in my 35 years as a Kings fan. Blake was looking pretty damned good after getting Fiala and now… ouch.. I get it from a business perspective but as a fan im gutted. happy trails Quicky! alway will be a legend and thanks for the 2 cups!

  11. Kings win almost 90% of games they get a .900 save% or better. Love Quick for everything he did but Korpisalo’s .913 save % not to mention Gavrikov could be what pushes the Kings over the top in the West

  12. Wow great trade. Jonathan Quick has been in early retirement and he and Petersen were the worst tandem in the league dragging down a team that otherwise was repressing shots against well and scoring if not a lot of goals, enough goals.
Korpisalo is a much younger average NHL goaltender. If he had been here from the start the Kings would have given up around 20 fewer goals against to date.
Quick and Petersen cost the Kings 10.8 million a year.
No one was taking Petersen on but Columbus has agreed to take a run at quick because of his body of work. Mostly though they are taking on his salary
Im not a gavrikov fan but hopefully he helps. Im assuming LA has had to drop prospects and picks to get this deal done. First round pick and more will be going to Columbus.

LA is a better team now with a chance to win the west and the Korpisalo-Copley tandem is shockingly better than anything they have had in nets all year.

Took them forever to grasp the nettle but had to do so to give doughty and kopitar one more chance in the playoffs.
Not good for King veteran hero Quick but actually a needed move for the team.

  13. As a CBJ fan, not sure how to feel about this one. I think it's a good trade for LA, Korpi is honestly the only reason we haven't already won the Bedard race. Gavrikov is solid too. Happy to get a first out of it since their deals are expiring, but totally understand if Quick decides not to play here. They should've let him retire a King

  14. Disgraceful, legend Quick probably retiring in 20 games, put him on LTIR, give Columbus Petersen instead. Two nice players in return, but Blake has been shaky at best: Trading for Ben Bishop, not resigning Iginla, passing on 40 goal guy Stutzle, backing up the Brinks truck for Petersen on and on and on

  15. I think Korpisalo is a great goalie. He carried cbj before the bubble and is huge for LA. Everyone thinks he is meh, but he isn't.

  16. The Kings are going to love Korpi and Gavrikov. Both underrated players getting so much disrespect.

  17. This is such a heartbreaking trade for us Kings fan. We love the man brought us 2 cups and we all thought he’d retire a king. This is just depressing. Hope the guys in return can help us get past the first round

  18. a legend of la kings no matter what won 2 Stanley cups because of quick saves.the kings should let him retire as a king he deserves it.i am mad at how the kings did this to quick

  19. I love Jonathan Quick. 10 years ago, arguably the best goalie in NHL. Today, Quick is a shell of himself. They were not going to go far in playoffs with your backup goalie being the #1 guy. Gee, when Kings traded with CBJ twice and won cups. Is 3rd time the charm?

  20. Guys I don’t care about getting past the first “I want it all, and I want it now” Quicks legacy will always be the same but we need to win 🥇 not just get past the first even if it’s unlikely we still have Kopitar and Doughty

  21. Cbj fan here and I must say I'm so sorry for the kings' players and fans. But on the bright side Korpi will be solid for u guys and gavi should be a nice add as well. My heart breaks cuz Korpi was my favorite jacket. Hope they help y'all out.

  22. That was a horrible mistake by Blake. Does he honestly believe LA's going to win the Cup with these moves? All he did was urinate on Quick's legendary name with the King's organization considering he was probably 4 months away from retiring a King. This was so unnecessary to do this. The Kings were fine as they were. Even before this dagger to the heart trade, they weren't getting past the first or 2nd round. Especially with Ekholm being added to the Oilers. It's a wash between the Oilers and the King's with the new D being added to each team. And the Oilers aren't finished yet. Where and what exactly can Blake do from here to Friday? Probably very minimal stuff if anything. Blake demonstrated he's one selfish and heartless SOB only thinking about how to win a round rather than thinking about Quick, his family and Quick's blood, sweat, tears and heart he gave the Kings for so many years. It may stand to reason that Blake and Quick hated each other, why else would Blake do this? Makes no sense. The Kings won't come near the Cup this year. Even with the new additions. Such a classless move by Blake. He'll regret this one literally long into his senior retirement years. The NHL world will now only remember Rob Blake for this trade and nothing else. It couldn't have been more evident that Blake never thought this through. He should do the right thing and cancel this deal if there's still time.

  23. Why couldn’t they have told him so he could have one last game at home in LA in front of the fans as a send off. I understand the trade but just think Quick was robbed of that

  24. FIRE ROB BLAKE FOR HIS STUPIDITY. QUICK SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN TRADED. KINGS SHOULD HAVE LET HIM RETIRE AS A KING. THERE IS NO LOYALTY TO QUICK AND KINGS FANS. FIRE BLAKE.

  25. At the end of the day, the NHL is a business but, this is way out of line. Jonathan quick may have a poor say percentage this year but, so do all of our other goaltenders. Do they honestly think that pheonix Copley is going to get us to the promised land? Reality check, Jonathan quick deserves better from the organization. In fact, he should have been allowed the opportunity to play his whole career here and retire. Yeah, we got some good players in return but, at the expense of loyalty.
