Lucky Tampa Bay is ready to lay down and die for the Leafs in round 1. I remember when Steve said "this Leaf team will go down as the worst Leaf team in history", as he was referring to the Leafs not winning 1 single round in the Matthews era. Breathe easy Steve. Every team has to make that dreadful west trip, often including 3 games in 4 nights in different cities. So don’t complain about the trip. Boston just made the same trip and swept them all. This was all on the Leafs.

So for those of you wondering why Steve is streaming non Leaf games on Saturadays its this. Sportsnet is contractably obligated to show certain games as the "main game" if u will. Because of this sometimes the leafs game will get bumped off the main channel. Since Steve's Watch a Leafs game is run by Sportsnet every now and then Sportsnet has to put a non Leafs game on to boost numbers. That's why it wasn't the leafs and Steve doesn't have any control over that unfortunately. Steve has said that he wants to stream Leaf games but its not his decision since the stream is sponsored and run by Sportsnet.

this is kind of a weird take after that nucks game. I thought the style of hockey was a lot tighter and more physical the entire night, plus there being down a whole forward line. I think this was the most playoff game I've seen all season and Leafs new guys responded appropriately, but the core of the team simply didn't have that compete yet (which is characteristic of the core from my POV).
They lose because the PP unit with the players that didn't adjust to this "playoff" type hockey simply weren't good enough. The offensively gifted group that struggles in playoffs dropped a shift. I don't understand the rage against the team that was expressed

GREAT RANT!! I was AT THE GAME. Spent over $200 for my ticket (Vancouver charges more for Leaf tickets, labelling it a “Marquee Game” -adding about $80 to $120 cost per seat) and it was my first live game since seeing Phil Kessel and Dion Phaneuf embarrass themselves.
It was a good first period, an okay 2nd period, but the disaster in the third was appalling. SO disappointing. Embarrassing. Willy was asleep, Auston was half-hearted and sloppy, Mitch was confused and lazy, Reilly was just awful and Bunting was completely useless. JT was working hard. But it was so hard to watch. Vancouver was dialled in and deserved the win. But it hurt to be there.
