  1. Great player but we need to get Bobby Orr's name out of our mouths, thats a different stratosphere of greatness. At 6:00 when you compare his scoring to Makar you chalk it up to consistency rather than ability… Hughes' shot is a soft noodle, and for all the quickness + fluidity he has, he doesnt have the speed to blow by defenders. That's why he doesn't score, and Makar does. He can improve his shot but its starting from a horrible place, so it's not like he has a ton of potential there. Size/strength of course are limiting for shooting power. For those reasons it's not realistic to expect him to become a scorer as well.

  2. He wont get any trophy consideration or and real recognition from other fans/ the league because he is on the Canucks lol

  3. Keep the name Bobby Orr out of your mouth. He in on the Mt. Rushmore of all players period. Offense, defense, goalies. We have the great one, Lemieux, Orr and take your pick, in that order.

  4. I wouldn't wish that list on anyone. Just let Hughes be Hughes, comparing him to other greats so early in him career might be a burden that would be impossible to live up to. Maybe in ten years we can start to might these comparisons. He's still rather young, let Hughes be Hughes.

  5. Canucks fans gotta start giving this guy more love. We have never had an offensive defenceman like this, ever, not even close. If he scored just a few more goals I think he would get more recognition.

Don't compare him to Orr though that's pretty silly

  6. This is like comparing a 17-10 2.95 pitcher to Sandy Koufax, because he’s left-handed.

There’s Bobby Orr, and 2nd Place is so far below, might as well be 22,222nd Place.

  7. Breh hughes def has huge potential to be faster. He’s one of the best skaters in the league with his edges.

  8. Sorry Quinn Hughes is Way better than what's his name, including his Great attitude😅😊 unlike what's his name😊

  9. i get a kick out of all the karens that are freaking out because someone has the audacity to mention quinn hughes in the same sentence with orr, coffee, leetch. he has out performed all of them at this point in his young career on a team that has been mired at or near the mushy middle of the league. the big stars all played on powerhouse cup winning teams. coffee and leetch played in a league where 8-12 goals a game was common place. quinn is a super star whether anyone wants to admit it or not.

  10. I like your videos and usually agree with most of what you say but you are way off this time bud. Hughes is not even close to same league as Coffee and Orr. Not at all. Let me enlighten you. Orr and Coffee were getting that many assists and 40 to 50 goals a year. They could dominate and take over a game every night. Hughes doesn’t dominate any games I watch….so he is not in that conversation at all. Never will be …he is tiny and will never dominate like them. Maker is way better. Hughes is a good passer and skater with phenomenal vision…but nothing more than that. I can say all this as I am a rabid Canucks fan.

  11. Quinn Hughes is definitely underrated by the league. The problem is that he's on the Canucks so he's overlooked compared to other players and with Karlsson having a great year and a big name attached, he's kinda being overshadowed. I hope he doesn't get too much pressure put on him being compared to all these great players and he just keeps doing his thing.

  12. Only canucks never win Norris soon Norris before his prime if he gets into a hot spot next season canucks need a partner for Hughes we don't have Colorado has got lucky

  13. It’s like if Patrick Kane were a Defenseman…but with Orr speed and mobility

  14. maybe the greatest ever at walking a blue line
one of the reasons he doesnt get the respect is because of makar fanboys. "oh yeah hes the fastest to 200 assists but makar can still beat him" etc .
dont get me wrong cale makar is great defenceman, BUT there are some things that it seems people keep missing when comparing the two:
1: Cale Makar is almost a full calendar year older than Quinn Hughes. Comparatively that means he got another year of minor development before making his NHL debut
2: Makar plays on one of the best run, lower distraction teams in the league , whilst Hughes plays for a team that has a been a tire fire for a good portion of his career.

Not to take away things from Makar BUT if he is a 10 , then Hughes isnt 6,7,8, or even 9 …hes a 9.8( for now)

p.s they really should hype this more as sid vs ovie defenceman edition , that would be fun.

  15. Lol he’s not even in the same catagory as Cale makar 61 points in 55 games. Cale has missed a lot of games due to being head hunted this year also Has 10 points in his last 5 games. Quinn is good but not that good. Quinn has never scored more than 8 goals in a season lol makar scored 28 last year and what he did in the playoffs was unbelievable winning the conn smyth Norris and cup. 60 assists is cool but yeah never mention him with Orr
