No. They might've needed him before but they have guys who do what he does now but are better players. The leafs have guys who are willing to hit and fight now. Are they tougher than Tampa? No. But they don't need Simmonds to fill that role anymore.

Considering how well that Boston has clicked this year and found ways of winning at a tremendous pace, losing to them would only be a problem if the Leafs only reason for losing was a butt load of mistakes.

It will come down to how much playoff heart and effort the big guns have. In the past that has been lacking and the team has repeatedly fold in round 1.
Idk I think Simmer has looked ok with ZAR and Kampf in the couple games he’s played. I have no problem with him being injury depth.

Justin Bourne went on a 20 minute rant about how Simmonds should never play again and he was literally in the lineup that same week. I'd rather see Wayne Simmonds then Alex Kerfoot I'll tell you that much. Some Leafs fans are absolutely oblivious to what it will take to bounce Tampa Bay in the playoffs

No one is mentioning that this is Simmonds last shot and the guy has one of the biggest hearts in the league. It's all in for Simmonds when he gets a shot in his he playoffs.

Need goaltending to win. Why are goalies on their knees all the time today? I remember Kirk McLean for the 'Nucks. Not that athletic but stood up and played the angles, did not get lost in the net. IMO Samsonov could be a true number one but he keeps losing his where he is in the net so losing the advantage of the angles. I don't recall Dryden or Parent kneeling
