    David Poile's trade deadline included moving Tanner Jeannot for five draft picks and Cal Foote, getting Mikael Granlund's $5m off the books for the next two years and getting a second round pick for the trouble, and nabbing some great assets for Mattias Ekholm, including Tyson Barrie, a former first round pick in Reid Schaefer, and a 2023 first rounder as well. And yet his best move may end up being locking up Tommy Novak to a one-year $800k extension for next year. Guy's been absolute money, and if it weren't for him and Saros the Preds would be in a far worse position.
