I’m gonna try to word this in the best way i can, the leafs mantra regarding the pride night is actions speak louder then words/attire. although all of them participated (excluding the one with worry about his family’s safety). i think its good that they’re is evidence he has supported in the past and they havent denied it (i.e staal) and i get ur point of some players have spoken out against the russian law but neither u, nor i have family in russia and we cant be in his spot of genuinely fearing for ur family’s life based on the actions of a ruthless insane dictator. i can imagine it is scary tho. i really think we should be okay with sammy’s choice here. and the leafs very clearly welcome this, they even show up to the parade.

Russia’s parliament has passed the third and final reading of a law banning “LGBT propaganda” among all adults, as Moscow ramps up its conservative push at home amid the war in Ukraine that passed the nine-month mark on Thursday.
The bill criminalizes any act regarded as an attempt to promote what Russia calls “non-traditional sexual relations” – in film, online, advertising, or in public – and expands on a notorious 2013 law that banned “propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations” among minors and was used to detain gay rights activists.
Under the new law, individuals can be fined up to 400,000 roubles (£5,400) and organizations 5m roubles (£68,500) for “propagandizing nontraditional sexual relations”, while foreigners could face up to 15 days’ arrest and expulsion from Russia.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, the Kremlin has launched a fresh effort to promote “traditional values”, with the Russian leader making anti-gay rhetoric one of the cornerstones of his political agenda.
In a recent speech, Putin accused the West of “moving towards open satanism”, citing the promotion of gay and transgender rights in Europe as an example.

There isn't anti-LGBT law in Russia, it's a lie! There is a law banning public advertising of this insanity, which is completely different thing. When it comes to the support of the LGQBT community, I personally have zero hate for anyone of any sex, race or political views or sexual orientation etc. In saying that, when you ask someone to wear something forcefully and say wear this for support of us, but if they don’t, the people get upset and offended? That’s not right either! I don’t have a problem with peoples choices and opinions but don’t force them on me as the right way to act or to think. We are all individuals for a reason and not agreeing with one persons beliefs doesn’t make them a hater. But telling people they are wrong for not wearing something they don’t support personally but don’t have a problem with as a human is wrong. Steve, I want you to wear your wife’s favourite dress next video to show support for all the dress makers and designers out there and to show support for women in dresses. If you choose not too, should you be reprimanded as well?
