    They just waited for the season to end to announce Lavi won't be offered a new contract. Don't think it had to do with the Pens firing most of their upper management at the end of their season.

    Lavi has a reputation for overstaying his welcome.

    Caps need a coach to maximize each player's strengths, as oppose to having everyone trying to fit into one style of play.

    As long as they don't hire Dallas Eakins as the next HC…

    I can't say that I am surprised really. I personally feel that Gerard Gallant would have been the better option when the coaching position became available 3 years ago. It will be interesting to see who will be filling the vacant coaching position. Thanks for the update Dan, always appreciated. Take care.
