@Avalanche du Colorado

#nhl #hockey #highlights #nhlplayoffs #seattlekraken #coloradoavalanche

  1. The officials are SHIT!!!! They are continually influencing how games turn out, sort of like a player betting on games and either not trying or trying to injure other players to get them out!!!! Makar should have had a major and a game misconduct!!!! Anyone else and that's what would have happened!!!!

  2. I mean fuck that’s a nasty fall and I hope he’s okay but that was a fucking terrible call and the suspension is retarded. McCann wasn’t prepared for the hit because he was expecting the whistle. This is what we talk about when we say play to the fucking whistle. Because you can get seriously hurt if you don’t and you take a hit. Makars hit wasn’t even interference imo. It was just a really awkward fall into the boards

  3. You know, I was really liking Makar for the Lady Byng this year. IDK, but taking out a star player on a bad hit in the playoffs feels like it might be an automatic DQ.

  4. Can the refs do anything besides fuck up calls this year? This is a fucking joke. Nice league Bettman.

  5. Obviously he assumed McCann knew where the puck was and was going to it and went to battle along the boards. Whoops. Can't believe they suspended him. Hopefully it was 100% because of the injury, and not because they think that is suspension worthy.

  6. He saw a chance to take him out and did,it’s the playoffs, there’s always going to be a little extra

  7. At 1:15 you can see Makar’s head looking around for the puck.

Given that and the fact there was no whistle, a suspension was warranted.

Dirty? Nah, given the right context.

For a guy with no previous history with player safety, a fine should have been the punishment.

If the ref would have blown the whistle as soon as the puck went out of play, this wouldn’t have happened.

  8. Foligno just got a game misconduct. Per NHL logic he should be suspended right? A guy with a history? Not saying his hit tonight was dirty but, where the hell is the consistency?!?! Cale has no history whatsoever!!! Besides maybe ratting on himself to get the refs to call off a penalty.

  9. I don't care who you are, reputation or not. that late hit is the type that the NHL has been supposidly trying to get out of the game since the 90s.
the player safety should have had something to say about that hit. but who knows based on what direction the nhl wants these games to go these days.

  10. This is what happens when Refs make poor decision calls or no calls. Clearly late whistle, which prompts Makar to finish him in the boards, which has been getting over looked of late hits or interference calls all playoffs, every game. When this set of playing style is established, its going to get out of hand. Game 2's was their chance to correct their mistakes but nope. Now here we are and players are getting hurt because they're letting late hits, crosschecking and interference calls go unpunished. There definitely needs be a higher standard of officiating.

  11. I agree that there was no whistle, everyone lost the puck. The hit also wasn't even that hard. The only reason people are talking about it is because he got hurt

  12. This reminds me of the hit on Brandon Carlo a few years ago that knocked him out for the playoffs. The one to Carlo was outright dirty so maybe not exactly the same… but similar contact with the boards. Hope he’s ok

  13. 'Didn't mean to maliciously hurt him" Are you fucking stupid? What was he doing then? Trying to make him feel better? What a shit take

  14. Thats such an egregiously late hit, any fuck who defends this can eat shit. There is no other reason to hit him here EXCEPT to hurt him. Do i think he meant to hurt him this badly? No, i genuinely don't, but i do think he wanted to bang him up a touch, bruise him, etc.

  15. NHL refereeing really sucks this year…that doesn’t end with just the on ice officials…even the doofuses in the replay centre are pulling some absolute bonehead calls. Nobody seems to know what rules apply when!

  16. Makar was a bully last playoffs too. He needs to learn to control his temper. Glad Seattle won for McCann. And I'm glad Makar is getting a suspension for it, the refs have been terrible in most every series so far.

  17. That was dirty as fuck, Makar got frustrated and lost his cool, even drove McCann's head into the glass when he shouldn't have been even touched, then to reduce it to a minor….!!!

  18. I'm going to disagree with you. If you see how long Makar has to make the decision not to hit McCann, there was pure deliberate intent to make an unnecessary hit. Players never go in to that thinking 'I'm going to end this man's career', even if they're a goon. But there is always genuine intent to 'send this man a message' or 'shut this guy down'. The whistle happens so close to the hit, there's no way Makar doesn't know McCann is ineligible to be hit cleanly, or that the puck is gone. But for context… Let's say you drink beer. You think you're good, you live a mile away from the bar. You drive home. You hit someone's car… You didn't INTEND to hit that car, but you did anyway. Also means you're responsible for the damages, and the DUI ticket you deserve there.

    1 Game is weak sauce.

My reason for this thinking: I play hockey, I play the game at a slower pace sure, not by much, but I can still process the game far ahead of what's happening. These guys are pro's for a reason. They can process these instincts and intentions at the pace they're playing, or they wouldn't be there.

  19. The refs let this happen by not malking calls all through out the series. FUK THE @NHL REFS

  20. I don't know what kind of player Makar is, but I've seen the AVS overcompensate with heavy hits when they're down in this series. You can clearly see at 1:06 Makar pushes McCann with his glove first (and McCann braces), then Makar disengages as he – I assume – sees the puck leave the ice and then decides to finish the check. That disengagement is telling for me. He went in for an extremely dirty hit and I think that one-game suspension is laughable. I'm all for hard hits, it's a hard game, but this was malicious, even if he's not "usually" like that.

  21. So why didn't the call Dunn for his late hit on Rodriguez? The refs had been letting rough play slide all night. What did they think would happen?

  22. Makar taking right after MacKinnon… Hard to defend that hit as he had already thrown an elbow into McCann's back before lining him up along the boards. Makar no doubt knew the puck was out… MacKinnon effect…

  23. With no whistle it’s a hockey play. What do they teach you? Keep your head up. Hockey players are so soft these days. I remember the days when Steve Y won the cup with a broken leg

  24. Makar admitted in his post game interview that he had no idea where the puck was and hit him anyways…

  25. Keep watching this channel here and there. I have not been following hockey for 5-10years now because the frustration coming from the inconsistency from the referees is just too damn high. I hope one day you'll announce the good news where there's a proper structure and hockey is enjoyable to watch again. Keep up the good work.

  26. Makar looked up and seen it go out of play, decided ha i'm gonna get him when he's not looking, he even slewfoots mccann with his knee and then pushes his head into the glass at the same time, and then looks down at mccann like "if you get up i'm gonna slug you" as he cockily skates away… should be a suspension for rest of the series at a minimum.

  27. NHL Fans will go Ballastic if they feel that is solid body check" its Post season Hockey this happens all the time at the most it could have 2 minutes?( the nhl over reach is extremely Nauseting?)

  28. A 1 game suspension is a slap in the face to the Kraken. He should be gone for 2-3 games. This league is absolute trash.

  29. Bunting got 3 games, and this get's a single game? Does Makar have a history? The guy didn't have the puck slowed down looking the other way, and this man leans on him and punches him on the way down. Man player safety must have the strangest wheel they spin to hand out games.
