  1. I definitely wouldn't buy him out. It's not a massive price at $1,958,334 in 2024-25 but I'd definitely rather get him off the books completely after this year than keep paying him to not play for us. We're almost definitely not looking to compete next year so there's no reason to risk having the money on the books in 24-25 when it's a bit more likely (though still not very) that we're looking to compete. I think he could be a decent piece to move at the TDL with retention to a contender.

  2. This is the hardest on the hot seat guy! If we keep him do we get last portion of the season Labanc where he is engaged and detailed and scoring? Or 21/22 Labanc where he was essentially worthless?
    Do we dump him and move on and is this the best option we have?
    And the biggest question who replaces his production in the lineup if he’s gone?

  3. I think you retain and turn the trade into a 2nd round pick. There isn’t a foreseeable need to retain on other trades this year other than EK. But losing him for a 4th is sad.
