  1. To Red Wings fans who are still upset about losing the 2020 draft lottery: what if the New York Rangers offered Yzerman a simple one-for-one trade of Lafreniere for Raymond? Would you want Yzerman to take that trade? I wouldn't, but I will leave two voting replies below so you can answer by liking the one you agree with.

If we had won the 2020 draft lottery, it is always possible that Yzerman would have gone off-script like he did with Seider, but if not then we would now have Lafreniere instead of Raymond.

Ironically, both of the last two times that the Red Wings had the #4 overall pick, the player we selected turned out to be better than the one we had originally wanted, but who wasn't available at #4.

  2. I think they should trade Alexis Lafreniere well he still has value before it's too late

  3. I would like to take this opportunity to formally thank the New York rangers for not selecting Tim Stützle first overall. I also wish to thank the NHL for doing us a favour by pushing our Pick back to three in 2020.

  4. Rangers fan here. No need to hide: Alexis Lafrenière is a bust. Laf's skating is bottom of league level. Not only he has the speed of a slug, his shiftiness and mobility are horrendous. His big body allowed him to dominate vs. 140 lbs kids in LHJMQ, but his game doesn't translate at NHL level. Watching him play and try to keep up with the speedy devils was hilariously pathetic. Rangers fans need to stop making excuses and say it's only a confidence issue and that Jack Hughes development was similar. #13 and #86 have nothing in common: speed, agility, puck control, scoring touch, deception, hockey IQ… you name it. I'm extremely worried because the league is only going to get faster and I don't see where Lafrenière could contribute as a valuable asset. Especially in big games & playoffs where the game gets harder and faster.

  5. Really like the way he plays, unfortunately just product of crowded rangers top 6, would love to have him on my team if I was an NHL GM tho, physical player

  6. I would still probably pick him up for a 2nd and a 3rd line roster player. The Rangers should have moved on from him him a year ago while his price was still a first rounder+.

  7. More then a few devils fans, we are ninja’s 🥷 we lurk in the background and dont comment much

  8. To be fair, Lafreniere went to a team with vets ready to make the playoffs off the jump and normally 1st Overall Pick caliber guys like Laf go to a rebuilding team that won’t see the playoffs in the next handful of yrs and just plays top line minutes to develop no matter how bad they are in the standings like Tim Stutzle. Both Laf & Byfield went to Teams with vets who pushed for playoffs immediately and were all over the lineup but never really had a consistent Top 6 role to develop like Tim Stutzle. LA even set up Byfield for failure putting him on LW & made it known he wants go back to his natural position that’s why I’m not hitting the panic button on these guys. If one of Laf or QB were in OTT right now I promise you they’d have impressive numbers but they went to a different situation compared to Stutzle who I like a lot as well. I wouldn’t hit the panic button.

  9. I wonder how hockey compares to other pro sports? I.e. what % of top 5 picks fall short vs other leagues…

  10. I am just hoping this is the motivation Laffy needs to do some serious off-season conditioning and skating. He is a tough player but gets winded too easily.

  11. Byfield, are you kidding me.
First line minutes playing with two of the kings best players has been a total failure both offensively and defensively as well.
    4 points ?
Garbage goal late in the game in which they were routed.
Both Laffy and Byfield are both total busts.
Numbers reg season 2 goals legit and an empty net goal.
Once again 1st line minutes and quite a bit of power play time.
And he and elder tied for goals.
Worst 1 and 2 picks in years

  12. As someone who is totally absolutely a Rangers fan I think he is hopeless we should trade him to Montreal for a 5th and Mike Hoffman's contract that would be a good deal. "Insert a reference that convinces you I'm a Rangers fan" go Rangers go

  13. Devils fan here btw , enjoy your channel … and you’re talking about a 1st overall draft pick, no need to explain why your doing it 😊

  14. That is true. he hasn't made the leap. The rangers added Kane and Tarasenko because they didn't have a middle of the line-up.
I'd trade Kakko and still hope to make something of Lafreniere. Because they don't have a lot of choices. Expected goal percentage. I think Auston Matthews had the worlds greatest Goals above expected when the Leafs lost to the habs in seven games a couple years back. Unfortunately he wasn't that good and the team lost. This stat you keep using , I donna think it means what you think it means.

  15. His skating is garbage. He relieved every Devils fan whenever the puck was on his stick during the playoff series because we knew he would do nothing with it. With that said if he's smart he will do everything in his power to get with a skating coach and get out of New York if he wants to not be a career 3rd line player.

  16. If Lafreniere was able to show his scoring prowess on the 3rd or 4th line, he'd have long been promoted to first or second line already. It's up to him to prove his worth.

  17. As someone still salty about being dropped to 4th in the 2020 draft and seeing a team that played a QO round for the playoffs win first overall, I see a video crapping on Lafreniere, I click.

  18. Laf needs a change of scenery to kickstart his career. At this point hes trending towards big time bust territory

  19. First 2 line were shifty they only line that give me some thrill was the young line with lafreniere and they other 2 younger player … where was your top 6 heee sleeping

  20. Timo Meier, one of the best wingers in the game, 40 goals in the regular season, 66 points total, had 0 goals and 0 assists while playing on the first power play unit. It is possible for good player (not to compare Laffy to Meier because Meier is much better) to have a 0 points in a series. All the hate Laffy is getting is a knee jerk reaction from a community that likes to hate on him. Anyone who watched that series knows that Laffy was not the problem, and for some reason he is getting hate for not becoming the solution. Laffy in this Ranger line up is not supposed to be the guy. That title falls on Mika or Pannarin (the guys who are making 20 million a year combined). As much as this pains me to say, the Devils are a team, the Ranger aren't. Players cant be expected to grow with what the Ranger were doing this season. For the love of god fire Galant. His solution for everything was changing the lines. The Rangers need a change in coaching style, and a coach is will not put Goodrow or Vesey in the top two lines. And just trade Panarin at this point. Not that bread is a bad player, he just does not fit in this team. The kid line would have been the second line the whole year in Panarin wasn't here, and we could also call up a guy like Othman or Cuylle. The future of this team is so unclear, but the metro will be a nightmare for years to come.

  21. I hope the Rangers trade him for something reasonable. They want such a haul that I don't see a team paying the price. Alexis is a very good player who isn't getting the mins or pp time that he needs to develop properly. It could be the system they have in place, who knows, but I'm positive if he goes somewhere else, his career will take off. What was it they wanted two 1st and a blue chip prospect? That seems steep, so I guess he will stay and continue to not take the next step.

  22. Would this be a bad time to remind Rangers fans that they could have had Dawson Mercer instead? Because if it is, great!

  23. Lafreniere's development got screwed up by the pandemic. He needed more time in juniors or a season in the AHL to develop his game, however, neither were running in 2020-21. So he got flung into the NHL at 18 when he wasn't ready and is still trying to find his way in the toughest league in the world at an age when most players haven't even broken into the NHL yet!
