Michkov to the Habs pls 🙏
Sitting in the fifth chair, the only prospect who would make me hesitate is Leo Carlsson, besides that I am on the
👉🏻 Michkov Train 👈🏻 Go Habs Go!
They should just draft Michkov and let him stay in the KHL until the contract ends
”Geographical issues”? It’s ok to call it a war. In fact, it’s very much like the US invading Canada.
I'm sure the Sharks are getting him, I'm expecting Carlsson or Smith at 5th, If michkov makes it down to 5th it would be the steal of the draft.
He's playing in the 2nd best league when he gets to the NHL by 2025/26 he will be fully developed, so unless the sharks want to make playoffs next year or the year after I doubt they skip on him.
Michkov is going to Washington 8th overall.
With the war happening in Russia, this wouldn’t surprised me if his dad wanted to get his son into North America away from the conflict and possibility of being drafted.
We can give our opinion and speculate on the matter all we want but the true fact is we really don't know the true story behind it. I'm sure Bobrov and the habs organization as a lot more intel and can evaluate the situation way better than us fan can. So we just gotta trust them on the choice to draft him or not once draft day cuz our opinions really don't matter right now. Only thing we can evaluate is the hockey player in itself and where should he be if he wasn't russian.
I think Columbus or San Jose will take michkov. The Columbus GM even hinted as much in his media interview. He is willing to wait two years for a player
If we draft Smith we wouldn’t get him for a few years and Michkov is playing pro hockey and will be nhl ready when he gets here
CBJ shoukd get him Jarmo has already taken chances on Russian players wouldn’t be shocked if he does it again
High. Risk high reward
I strongly believe Kekalainen from CBJ will pick him before the habs, because he's the type of GM I'd see do a move like that. No matter how much CBJ sucks and for how many seasons, he still keeps his job. This is a GM who can afford to wait. The upside is that this means one of Smith or Carlson would be available for the habs to pick.
I trust the Habs scouting team. Nick Bobrov is well connected within Michkov's KHL team so I'm sure on June 28, if he is available at 5, we'll take the best decision whether or not we draft him. I like the idea of a guy of his talent one day wearing a Habs jersey but I certainly don't know nearly enough to have a set idea on whether or not he'll be worth it. Who knows, maybe he won't even be available at 5 and this whole conversation becomes moot.
Michkov is compared to Lemieux, Gretzky, Kariya. 99% star probability
I’d be nice to see the Blackhawks trade up to get him if he somehow falls into the 5-6 range. Imagine Michkov on a line with Bedard in a few years
Leggo, once again Russia is changing the rules so Michkov and likely all Russian players will have to defect to play in the NHL! Michkovs father was likely killed by drowning (very suspicious conditions) as you said. Drafting Michkov is a comllete waste of a pick 99%. Grant McCaag did a podcast recently. Do some research, I can't believe this isn't being talked about. Mitchkov is not being drafted early. Players are going to have to defect which will put their family and their own lives in serious danger. Agian this applies even past the initial khl contract. This goes for all Russian players.
50//50 he comes to Habs
No one is comparable to Michkov other than Bedard, full stop. The only thing GM’s are weighing is the risk that with recent events he might not come to North America at all.
BRUH, like Russia has never assassinated anyone and lied about it.
Did you see what happened to Fedotov!?
are you ready to wait for 2028 to have him
What???? No way, the head office didn't stay up all night and decide who they're picking 5th 5 hours after the draft.
Mitchkov could always defect.
If you think Kent Hughes is going to tip his hand, you shouldn't play poker with Kent Hughes. He's not playing poker: he's playing 3D Chess.
Other Russians escaped Russia like mogilny others like Malkin said they were forced to sign
Other Russians escaped Russia like mogilny others like Malkin said they were forced to sign
leave him in the khl we dont need any russian with the war going
Habs are looking at smith or maybe Carelson. Michkov will more than likely be gone
Great Video, LRx. And Thanks for keeping up with the MICHKOV saga. I am such a huge fan of his, and have watched every game of his I can for the last several years. I'm even going to the Draft in June, not only bc it may be the best class in NHL history, But primarily bc I am going in support of Matvei. IMO, he has the best shot, and is the Most 'pure goal scorer, that I have ever seen for a draft-eligible year in the last 25 years. * I Do believe that one day… MICHKOV will win the Rocket Richard Trophy*
Maybe we'll see a Fantilli vs Carlsson maybe at Worlds…. more likely, we'll see Carlsson vs Hutson.
