   Hellebuyck! Trade Debrincat for him or trade Debrincat for pics and then use those picks to get Hellebuyck. Much more important position. Forsberg becomes expendable… or perhaps traded to Winnipeg as they will need a goalie . Sogarrd on an ELC and we're set with the most important position covered and a revamped defensive end. He's about the only goaltender I would consider doing that for. No to Swayman! Any goalie would look great in Boston not sure that translates to Ottawa.

   James Reimer!! Get him in free-agency. Hes what Ottawa needs. Consistently good over the last few years, and a 2.25M AAV going into free-agency? Why wouldnt Reimer be the guy? Sign him on a 2 year deal. Let Sogaard and Merileinen fight out for a couple years in Belleville, and if Merileinen is also ready in 2 years, both Forsberg and Reimer's contracts are up, keep the better keeper, and bring in Sogaard and extend one of the vets for 1 year, and hopefully the other future goaltender for this team is ready to come up, and welcome the tandem of the future in 3 years. Thats more than enough time for Sogaard to be ready and for Merileinen, who mentally is already ready for the NHL, work on making himself look bigger in goal, and voila. They dont need a superstar goaltender right now with the defense they have. They need to really focus on getting a couple of power-forwards who can win puck battles. Why do you think the Devils are this good, and why Florida advanced? Power-forwards who can win you those puck battles, and that should help their 5 on 5 play dramatically. Trade out Debrincat, trade out Joseph, get rid of the Gambrell's and the Gauthier's who are just chewing up cap space for absolutely no reason, and get some power-forwards this team desperately needs to make them harder to play against, especially on the road. Trade Debrincat to the Jets. Why not? Go get a Pierre-Luc Dubois for the second line with Norris and Batherson. Hes going to be cheaper than Debrincat and adds an element that line so badly needs. Go get a Garrett Hathaway for the third line and put him with Grieg (wing) and Pinto. The only power-forward Ottawa has in their top 9 is Brady. Thats a major issue and why the first line was so good, and the second and third lines were not, especially 5 on 5. No one except Brady to win those puck battles.

   Maybe if the Ottawa Senators ask for a retain on Conor Hellebuyck, you could give up one or two prospects and a NHL roster player, one or two to get cap space, that might make more sense
