Mathews was always overrated af by Leafs fans, he had couple good seasons but he is no where near guys like conor, draisaitl, MacKinnon
As an Oilers fan, I already knew Draisaitl was better, that's not trying to be biased. Draisaitl is unfortunately in McDavid's shadow. I remember when McDavid was out for two weeks the one year, Drai was carrying the team still putting up 2+ ppg.
Was there ever even a debate?
Matthew’s skate hunched over like a greased up weasel
Matthew’s has a purse 👜
Lego can you make a video talking about Gustav Forsling? I found out today that the Canucks drafted him and traded him for Adam Clendening🤯😭😭
Sorry but I hate such videos… Why you show completely unrelated videogame videos… If you don't have good videos for the topic make a podcast for god sake.. Why you are not showing actual videos from the series? There are plenty out there
In the end success is not measured in goals assists and total points. Success is only measured on how many Stanley cups you have won!
Draisaitls next contract will be 8 figures on par with McDavids contract. Both of these players are a tremendous talents that any team would welcome having on their roster!
was never a debate drai is obviously much better and has been for years
Keep hearing this is a debate all of a sudden. Leon and Connor are and have been the best two players in the league for a long time. Leafs would compare Matthews to Leon 🤣💀
Matthews is a very good two way player, meanwhile McDavid is not, end of conversation.
We will see who shows up to play tonight !
I like mathews but he seems like he hates where he's at. His body language says it all. Would like him to go to Buffalo and play with Thompson though
As a leaf fan was this even ever a debate? Yeah Auston scores more goals on average but Drain gets it done in the playoffs
This wasn’t even a Debate to begin with Leon Draisaitl is and has been way better then Auston Matthews, Leon’s got 31 goals 45 assist 76 points in just 46 playoff games and he’s about to set records 😭😭
If you put Mathews in Draisaitl's spot, he may do as good or better. McDavid makes everyone around him that much better. That's why he's the best in the world.
How many rings? 0 for both?
Chris Dingman’s got two…
The premise here is nonsense: if anything sure theyre equal and button looks like a knob (shocker!)- but your saying that hes bettwr off one season where am34 scored 40 and got shut down for a series?? Wow… draisaitls been shut down lots too- theyre still bith elite talents. More to the point im not even sure this warrants the energy it takes to write anymore… but good god this does not warrant a ten minute video. If youre take isbthat draisitl is a decidely better player (first off its a bunk take) but you could say it in well under 10 minutes. Put two topics in or something…
grizzly’s Wolfsburg jersey❤
was there ever a debate? As a neutral I think it was only in leaf fans heads…
If drsisaitl was in to and mathews in edm itd be mathews
Oilers will never win because mcdavid and draisatil don’t have any supporting cast or defense. Two players and a bunch of scrubs can’t win a cup and I don’t wanna hear about the stats of their roster because the moment mcdavid and draisatil aren’t producing or are out the team suffers no one can step up when those two ain’t producing
Draisaitl is the ultimate playoff performer if you want a playoff performer and if you had Matthews even getting Cal Petersen is a fleace Draisaitl ist on a whole other level Draisaitl and McD carry each other when McD is hurt then Draisaitl can take over they can both be at the helm of a team and drag a team to the playoffs Matthews could have Clayton Keller and Marner and all the players needed and he still couldn't drag a team to the playoffs I'm from Toronto btw
Hope leafs lose and they fire shanny and dubass and keff. Trade Mathews asap he’s not worth the money
There no debate when people say McDavid does it all cause McDavid and Leon both up ecother. And Draisaitl is way better then Matthews for this year.. but Leon won't get the credit cause he's a under rated superstar
As a Leafs fan I have to say Draisaitl is better right now. His value in the playoffs put him ahead for me. Having said that there is way more to it being Auston vs Leon. Drais play on McDavids line often and gets to be on that amazing power play they have over there. When Draisaitl isn’t playing with McDavid, he is still benefiting because teams are matching there best defensive pairings with McDavid which obviously benefits Leon. Matthews meanwhile gets the best d pairings every night. If Matthews was on Edm and Draisaitl on T.O it may be a different story.
Leaf’s fans show themselves to be clowns as usual.
Mathews is better regular season player. And better goal scorer. But if we are talking about playoffs. Leon is 100x times better. Who knows, maybe pressure in Toronto are too much. Would Matthews be better in other smaller city?
I like them for different reasons. I'm an Oilers fan, and we love 29. But his style of play can draw criticism for lack of urgency at times. Problem is, when they are firing on all cylinders, it is a thing of beauty. Watching those two steel pucks and just undress the defence is why I love hockey. Or the quick but ultra accurate shot that seems effortless. So to your question, Drais is more reliable, more consistent and has a wicked hockey IQ. Matts is a goal scorer, pure and simple. He can razzle dazzle with the best of them, but he lacks the full game picture that Drais has come into.
Matthews isn't even the best player on Toronto
I love how overhyle Matthews is I remember how leads fans was talking about how Mathews can beat Gretzky record after he wins one Maurice rocket Richard trophy
Draisaitl is the King of Leons
Lived another Game Go Florida and Vegas. Hate the Oilers and leaf
The big difference is driving play. The best players control the play when they are out there. Matthews is just a shooter, a very good one, but you will never see him skating circles in the offensive zone setting up plays. If anything, Marner has been a huge boost to Matthews
Group Question: If I Wanted to start collecting (trading/ "investing ") hockey cards, should i start collecting (rookie cards for):
A- Leon Draisatal
or
B- Austun Mathews
