I understand why you're characterizing the interview process this way. But I seriously doubt FSG has told Darche, Greeley, or whoever else, "Hold on, we're waiting for Dubas to make his decision." Even if we all know that's actually the case.
I'd bet anything they've said something along the lines of: "There's another candidate who recently became available, and we hope you understand we need to go through the same interview process with them. So we ask for your patience and understanding as we extend our decision window. It's only fair that all candidates go through the same vetting process."
Is that a bunch of half-truths with a sprinkling of BS? Yeah. But that's how the corporate hiring process usually works.
