The only time I ever rooted for the Isles. Tom Fitzgerald was insane in this series. Probably the high point of his career.

Stevienics19913, the 92-93 season was the best in Pittsburgh Penguins history, but as we know in all sports (hockey included) the best team doesn't always win it all when it comes to playoff time, and it was truly an Stanley Cup Playoff upset to be remembered 24 years later. Thanks for uploading!
The pens should have never changed those uniforms in the early 90s to the ones they wore here in the 1992-93 season after winning 2 cups in a row in 1992.

Scotty blew it. Had a sure fire dynasty and gassed it. I mean an injury decimated Islander team that got blown away by Montreal in the next series. Volek, Healy, Delgarno, never to have any fame after this. Scotty is so moronic that he's playing washups Dave Tippett and Needham like crazy. Had no business going 7 games in the first place. You go into a 7th game with that Sieve Barrassole and this can happen. I think that bullshit final series they had with Moreon Keenan last year ruined this team. "Oh sure, we'll always get gift goals like that….". Kitty by the Door Hockey eventually caught up with them. No mental discipline. The Fairy from Czech with his hair down to his knees. Mario playing his soft perimeter game. This team had playoff choke written all over it. When crunch came Francis and Larry Murphy were pretty much the go to players. Lemieux had one more great playoff 2 years later and that was it.
