  1. QUESTION OF THE DAY — Which Team Do YOU Think Is Most Likely To Make A Trade w/ The Blackhawks During The 2023 NHL Draft?

  2. i'ld like to see either boeser or garland plus myers after his 5 mil bonus is paid. so myers with just 1 mil owed but a 6mil cap hit. then we trade first round picks.

  3. In addition to talking about the price the Blackhawks have to pay to move up from No. 19, you also need to talk about the cost or penalty for a team to trade a player with a bad contract to unload salary. Remember: in 2016 the Blackhawks had to give Teuvo Teravainen to the Carolina Hurricanes to unload Brian Bickell. In return they only got a 2nd round pick in 2016 and a 3rd round pick in 2017, and Teuvo was a high 1st round pick who had already demonstrated that he would be a 1st or 2nd line player.

  4. If we trade with Vancouver why not pick up 2 of their contracts to limit what we have to give them. If we take both Boeser and Garland then we'll probably get away with giving them our 19th and one of our later 2nd-round picks this year. That saves us from giving away that valuable 35th pick in the 2nd and the 2nd next year. This way we can use that 35th pick and something else to trade back into the 1st and have 3 1st-round picks this year, just like last year.

  5. The Vancouver trade you have proposed is awful. In this deep draft the No. 35 pick is the equivalent of a low 1st round pick in most other NHL drafts. Why would you give up the equivalent of two 1st round picks AND a 2nd round pick AND eat $6,400,000 of salary cap with Brock Boeser just to move up eight slots in the 1st round? Remember: we are doing Vancouver a favor as their backs are up against the wall. The Blackhawks should offer the #44 pick as a sweetener to swap No. 19 for No. 11 and eat Brock Boeser's salary and that's it. We can easily walk away from this trade and use the $6.4 million to acquire a 27 or 28 y.o. talented and proven player such as Ivan Barbashev or J.T. Compher and sign him to a 5 or 6 year contract, a much better move in the rebuilding process and in providing a skilled player to work on a line with Connor Bedard.

  6. If we trade with Pittsburgh and take Jeff Carter we should NOT have to give up any 2nd round picks since they are moving back only 4 spots. If they don't want to do that then just stay at 19.

  7. We really should concentrate on seeing which teams will just trade picks straight up because we take on a couple of their bad contracts. Those 2nd round picks are valuable, especially in this draft.

  8. Final thoughts: All of the trades to move up only 2-4 spots while giving up 2nd round picks are totally unnecessary. Similarly, giving away multiple high 2nd round and 3rd round picks to move into the bottom of the 1st round is also unnecessary because the No. 35 pick is nearly as good. Again, unnecessary trades. The one trade you proposed that might make sense is with the NY Rangers where they give Chicago No. 24 and Barclay Goodrow for Chicago's No. 35, No. 44 and No.67, but only if someone they are VERY interested in drops down to No. 24. This would be a Win-Win trade for both teams.

  9. If the Hawks trade up, it should be for Oliver Moore. Taking on Boeser and bad contact ie..Garland and giving up the 19th and 51st picks should be the price paid.
If Moore isn't available at number 11, I would stay put at 19 and take a big winger like Daniil But , Samuel Honzek, or play maker like Riley Heidt.

  10. I’d prefer that the Blackhawks keep all of their 2nd rd picks and stay at #19. They need as many dart throws as possible in this draft.

  11. Imagine if dvorsky drops to 10-11 and you have Bedard Dvorsky for decade ists unfair

  12. I feel you aren’t valuing the salary relief these teams are receiving high enough in these trades. Since it’s a deep draft the 2nd round picks carry a higher value than normal also I believe. Good video though!
