guentz- crosby- rak , one of the best 1st lines in the game. Pay the man and if he's willing to do 7.6x 5 it would be a great contract for then Penguins. I would leave the last 2 yrs with out a no trade clause. Its strange because people are willing to pay Bertuzzi a similar salary to play 2nd line minutes. Only good thing hex did was get the core to take home town contracts so we can keep guys like guentz.
As a fan, ahem (not a general manager) I want what's best for guentz. He has helped win two, count em'(2) Stanley Cups for the Penguins. And he wasn't just riding on Crosby's coat tails; he was setting postseason records as a Goal scorer. He deserves to be Captain of a team and because of politics and ego he will never be Captain of the Penguins. Whether that's important to him or not idk, but I think it's clear the window is closed in Pittsburgh to win another Stanley Cup…
