The next season needs to move the team forward. IMO that didn't happen this year. Depending on what happens at the draft decides whether the team needs to take another mulligan or not.
Offer #1 is a bit more enticing but way too much is given to Vancouver. Myers is making $6 mill/yr this year and that is quite a bit to absorb for Montreal. Myers and the 11th for Montreal's 37th and a 4th round pick is more than enough. With regard to the rebuild, I think you have to stay the course and as HUGO has said before they want to accelerate the process if possible and not delay it one more year. You can't have only young players, rookies and prospects on a team. Need a good blend of experience as well. Great video as usual.
I would buy out Armia, they save 2 million on the cap. Like Ylonen, who is NHL ready I would not trade him. Canucks want to move up in the draft. I think if Kent can retain 50% salary on Edmundson, he can trade him to Oilers. But there are some possible trades, maybe Philly, since habs may want Carter Hart, and trade for no.7 ov. No way Vancouver trades the 11th pick this year. This trade would not happen before the draft. Trades like this happen later with future draft picks in hope that it ends up being a lower pick.
There is no chance the Canucks trade 11th ova pick to move Myers. Myers is a 6 million cap hit, but in September he gets 5 million in bonuses, with only 1 million in real money being paid to him. The Canucks could move him to a team looking to get to the cap floor.
With the 11th you can package it with the 5th to move up to 3rd (Columbus) instead of trading Dach (as was mentioned yesterday if I remember correctly.) I also liked the moving back trade for Nashville's 15th overall + Askarov for our 5th + Hoffman + Struble

Well the Senators sold for about 975 Million!!! This makes all the owners in the League SMILE. That means the next expansion will bring $1 Billion Dollars. This means YOU cannot MOVE Arizona!!!! Arizona stays where they are and we see a 2 TEAM expansion in 2028…. 2 Teams in the USA bringing in $1.125 Billion!!!… $2.250 Billion split between 32 owners…. Re: the current PLD saga, I believe his agent Pat Brisson is now simply posturing. He has one goal in mind, that is to get the best possible one-year "rental" deal for his client. I personally am convinced that Dubois ultimately wants to become a Hab, and that at the end of the day he will gladly accept from Kent Hughes a contract offer similar to that of Suzuki or Caufield. However, should he sign an 8-year deal with another team à la Matthew Tkachuk, well … his true colors would finally be revealed ! If that turns out to be the case, well … good riddance ! The ball is in his court.
I don't think the Vancouver situation compares to the Calgary situation of last summer. The Flames honestly thought that signing Kadri would improve the team and was worth paying the Habs with a 1st rounder to take on Monahan's AAV. If the Canucks pay the Habs in a similar fashion, they do not improve their team. Living in BC, my observation is that the Canucks are doomed unless they can move on from JT Miller, the Ekman-Larsson contract expires, and the meddling Owner sells the Team to someone who is hands-off. Interesting aside is that I saw an AI prediction for Stanley Cup finals until 2030 and it has the Canucks beating MTL in 2028 in Six. It also has Vegas beating the Panthers in six this season.

No way Nucks are that stupid to move their 11th or next year's first just to get rid of 1 year of Myer's cap space while Myers will only get paid $1 million in actual salary next year. In order for the Nucks to move that 11th pick and or next year's first, Montreal has to take back OEL. Not even taking Boeser is enough (trading Boeser or Garland one might be reserved for Chicago's 19th if the Nucks were to trade them the 11th pick).
Hi Coach, I agree that development will be crucial this coming year but I think they will do better than bottom 10….not worried about Dubois and the trades are in the HABS favour so I like them.
