    We were the biggest losers in the post season and if we dont fix the player development system the losing will continue.

    Still missing paval buchnevich…….was our best 5 on 5 forward……best all around forward……best plus minus numbers…..what a horrible trade…..

    Winners:
    Igor – better D zone coverage will help.
    PP (Mika) – can one time the puck like Ovi on the PP.
    3rd/4th line – they will be VERY hard to play against.
    K Miller – more strucutre could really help.
    Trocheck: Seems like the ultimate PL guy.

    Neutral:
    PP – shouldn't change much
    Fox/Lindgren – could see point dip for fox but both might benefit from better D zone play.
    Kids: I don't think it will make THAT much of a difference. They will keep growing but I don't think we see a major jump.

    Losers:
    Krider: A guy with his passion isn't captain? That tells me something. PP may shift to Mika and his tip in points will decline. Could even end up on line 3.
    Panarin: point total won't break 85 but he will play MUCH better D so it will be a plus?

    Maybe Patrick Kane, Vladimir Tarasenko, Artemi Panarin, Chris Kreider, Mika Zibanejad and Igor Shesterkin are the winners of the Peter Laviolette hire. Alex Ovechkin scored 50 goals in the Capitals’ 1st 82-game season under Laviolette. Another problem in Washington is that they don’t really have a goalie, anymore. That’s why the Caps were so bad under him. Imagine if they still had Braden Holtby. At 1st, I didn’t want Gerard Gallant to go because I was so worried that we might end up with either Dan Bylsma or even worse, John Hynes. Bylsma and Hynes are both soft-spoken players’ coaches. Bylsma didn’t win that Stanley Cup in Pittsburgh. They won because Michel Therrien taught them the year before and got them to game 6 of that Stanley Cup Final. As tough, intense and no-nonsense as Gallant was, Laviolette is at least a little bit tougher, more intense and more no-nonsense than Gallant.
