J’avoue cependant que je ne suis pas un grand fan de voir des équipes comme les Sabres de Buffalo et les Red Wings de Détroit devenir bonnes et peut-être meilleures que mes Panthers. Je n’aime pas non plus que les équipes plus anciennes comme les Penguins de Pittsburgh et les Capitals de Washington continuent d’être aussi bonnes ou meilleures que mon équipe, principalement parce que ces équipes ont été si constantes au fil des ans. Bien sûr, j’aime bien voir les joueurs que nous avons échangés réussir dans d’autres villes comme les Flyers de Philadelphie et les Canucks de Vancouver, mais j’y suis habitué. En ce qui concerne mes Dolphins de Miami, j’admettrai que mes sentiments à l’égard des Buffalo Bills, des NY Jets et surtout des New Englad Patriots ne sont pas vraiment affectueux. De plus, voir des équipes comme les Jaguars de Jacksonville et les Giants de New York se rendre aussi loin ou plus loin que les Dolphins est bouleversant. J’admettrai que je n’aime PAS les Chiefs de Kansas City et que j’ai un faible pour les Packers de Green Bay. Tout comme la LNH, je couvre également les séries éliminatoires de la NFL, donc même si vous êtes un fan des Bengals de Cincinnati, ou même un fan des 49 de San Francisco ou des Eagles de Philadelphie, encore une fois, cette chaîne sera pour vous. J’espère que les équipes qui participeront aux séries éliminatoires la saison prochaine incluent les Lions de Detroit, les Jets de New York et peut-être même les Broncos de Denver, juste pour le plaisir ! Si vous avez lu jusqu’ici et compris que j’essaie d’écrire une description qui comprend autant de mots-clés que possible, vous avez raison. Not gonna lie ~ I posted your game 2 recap on Facebook, and commended you on NOT being one of those whiny, “the league is rigged” dildos who blames the refs (as inconsistent as they are) every time something doesn’t go your team’s way, and I respect the Hell out of you for that. The refs screw EVERYBODY eventually with bad calls, and everybody gets burned or reaps the benefit of them sooner or later. And I called this series ‘Knights in 7’ before they ever dropped the puck for game 1 – because, seeing the way your guys clawed your way back over Boston, I honestly believed this series would go the full 7 games…
HOWEVER, few people back east (that I know, anyway) stay awake til 1-2am watching west coast games, so I knew MOST people underestimated our depth & would never see us coming. People like to talk about how Vegas was “gifted” a great team right out of the gate (NOW), but EVERYBODY said Vegas was going to be garbage THE ENTIRE YEAR leading up to Year 1 Game 1; so much so that the odds were 500-1 that Vegas would win the cup in their inaugural season, because our team was built from other teams’ throwaways. Hence, “The Golden Misfits.” We “weren’t even in the conversation.”
Then we started winning. Because, as it turns out, a group of guys playing with chips on their shoulders played like they had something to prove, if only to the teams that didn’t value or appreciate them enough to protect them from the expansion draft. WHO AMONG US expected a guy like William Karlsson (who had 18 CAREER GOALS in 183 games prior to the trade) to score 43 goals in his first season in Vegas? NOBODY. Florida basically GAVE us Reilly Smith just to take Marchessault, FFS. 😂
There were only six OG Misfits left on the Knights squad this year. Most of the “great team” we were “gifted” six years ago are long gone. The 22/23 VGK were assembled from a few years trading out, regrouping, and ultimately gelling into a DEEPly cohesive unit that plays AS A TEAM. They don’t rely on a couple superstar players to do the majority of the heavy lifting — EVERYONE contributes. Including our 4th string goalie, that NO ONE could have predicted would turn into the beast that he did during this playoff run.
If Florida hadn’t had 9 days to cool off, I think they’d have kept their momentum going & would have put up A LOT more of a fight. I really do. But, while they were cooling down, WE started firing on all cylinders & learning from the Edmonton & Dallas mistakes, and went into game 1 ready to keep it going from the jump.
For whatever it’s worth, you guys had a hell of a season, or you wouldn’t have won the Eastern Conference Championship. That’s no small feat. Once you shake the summer rust off & regroup, I have no doubt we’ll see you again next year.

You still have to be proud of your team, I couldn’t believe that they’d upset the Bruins in the first round because I thought we (Golden Knights) would go against the Bruins in the Finals.

Vegas started celebrating with 20 seconds left. That's too much! Never happened before. Why didn't the Florida players attack and try to get more goals? It would have worked. That's what I would have done.

This playoffs reminded me of a stolen car chase… wheels fell off at the end bc we went so damn hard the first three series…loustarlien, Tkachuk, Gudas, Bob, we looked human and I won’t say it but the LTIR is such bs Tampa proved it… now Vegas proved it
Were on a magical roll until they met the momentum killer, nine days off. They couldnt get back to form. Knights aren't too shabby either.
Hey, Golden Knights fan here. You should be very proud of your Florida team. They had a Cinderella run to the finals, in which everyone counted out Florida on their brackets (I unfortunately made this mistake as well), and Florida kept on winning. It was as charming as the run that the Montreal Canadiens had in 2021. Everyone counted out Montreal, said they were dead to rights, and then next thing you know they will their way into the Final with clutch goal scoring and elite goaltending.
Boston in round 1 put Florida on skates, but Florida is great at skating. Florida would keep pressuring Boston and make them feel the heat when the world expected the opposite from them. The Panthers stole games from Boston and dominated their way to a game 7, which after tying the game late to force OT, the Panthers defeated the best regular season team in league history which is no easy mission.
Toronto wanted Florida, they got the best version of Florida that Toronto has faced all year and Toronto crumbled under Florida's offensive prowess.
Florida rode in to Carolina and battled in a war of attrition versus a very good offensive juggernaut. Florida did something special, and as the underdog, they took advantage of Carolina's miscues when it mattered most and swept the Carolina Hurricanes in convincing fashion. I actually got hyped when I saw Tkachuk score the OT winner in game 2, it was such a crafty play and you got to appreciate those plays as a hockey fan.
When Florida made it to the Finals, their many OT games and injuries throughout the playoffs unfortunately took its toll, but the crazy thing is, regardless of this adversity, Florida at times looked dangerous and applied good offensive pressure on Vegas. Even though Florida may not have won it all this year, this is a very good building block experience for this Panthers team, and I can see the Panthers riding into the 2023-24 season with a renewed vigor as a proven tride and true contender. You should absolutely be proud as a Panthers fan, and your coach is a class act and sincere human being.
I know the Knights have not been around very long, but by seeing the Knights lose elimination games throughout the team's history, I can appreciate how you are feeling right now. It is a sour, gut wrenching feeling, almost a numbing feeling at times but it is not the end of the world. Keep your chin up, Florida's time will come as Vegas has had their time now. Excited to see Florida contend next year in the same league as my Golden Knights!

Vegas was better in all parts of the game. Floridas biggest problems I think were: not scoring enough, no power play goals, giving up 2 or 3 goals early in games. They lost all the momentum and confidence they had coming in to the final.

Very depressing video bud, but I've been there twice now with my Bruins 2013 & 2019. Sucks but it was a great run for an 8th seed. Enjoy the summer with you're 2 sons. Cheers!

They were not healthy – 4 players with broken bones. I am sure Vegas could say same. Zito will be aggressive in offseason to make the team better… we will have about $7-9 million in cap freeing up. The Lightning had to lose a Cup Final before becoming a dynasty. We won a Cup Final game… next time we make it back here, we will finish the job. This hurts… it was tough getting outta bed this morning. But i have a LOT of hope for the future… maybe Q comes back, lol… We can re-tool the team and come back stronger. So… there is something to be said for be-LIE-f… i hear that Connor Helleybuck wants to leave Winnipeg , but maybe we can engage in a 3-team trade with a partner like Arizona to take on Bob…. this offseason will be interesting.
Thanks for doing these reviews after every game. It's almost therapeutic for me as I listen to you(happy or sad) on the way to work after panther games. Let's do it all again next season!
It’s been a hell of a ride we lived our best lives. It’s disappointing, but what an incredible two months we had looking forward to next season. This stings but great job everybody.
I agree with almost everything you said about the Finals except for the refs. Not saying the refs dictated the entire series because Vegas was the better team all around and our power play was awful. However Game 1 &2 we tried to play are style of “Hockey” that we play for first 3 rounds to take down the top eastern teams. We fight Panthers go to the box or gets a misconduct. As for Vegas they get a power play…Panthers look done when they realized they couldn’t play their style of Hockey without a penalty or misconduct.
What a run, at the very least we don’t have to make references to 96’ as the best year in franchise history. I do think this franchise is not going to make the same mistake where they will quickly go back to obscurity. The Florida Panthers have regained the casual South Florida sports fans respect. I really am excited for the future and see what Zito can come up with in the off-season (now that there’s gonna be a bit of cap space). Rest assured this team should make the playoffs again and now that they have tasted Cup Final failure, which quite a few teams go through as like the last rite of passage before they win the Cup. The Cup will make it’s way down to South Florida really soon! Til’ October, Go Cats Go!
Watched game 4 at the Miami Arena and went to the Rally at the arena after that loss and remember Mclean telling us we would we be back. 27 years. 27 years man…
End of day, the 9 days between canes knights series broke up the unbelelieveable momentum your team was riding. no doubt you win series. Take it from a flyers fan. these losses sting for decades. Respect to you and your team.

They beat 3 strong teams to make it to the finals, and the Panthers were the underdogs. So many people doubted them, and many said, "Hockey doesn't belong in Florida." Maybe next year would be different. I don't know if it will happen again, but then nobody expected to Panthers to make it to the finals.
I joined in on this channel back in the first round and I havent looked back since. You guys are awesome and I'm sorry the result wasn't the one you wanted. I may be a Caps fan, but because of you guys, I will always have a soft spot for Florida. Incredible run, especially by an 8th seeded team. I hope the Panthers come back even stronger next year!

Canucks fan here, know a similar pain to our 2011 run ended by the B's. It SUCCCKS. But man, what a ride by you Panthers. Huge pat on the back, you fought off an Omnivore, you nipped the Buds and countered a Hurricane. Lyon has a bright future in Net, Giviani Smith would have been good to see for a game or 2 and you just need a tweak here and there I think,
