  1. I can 100% confirm that the pop from that first goal was the loudest cheer I’ve ever heard in person. Absolutely deafening.

  2. Best line in hockey. Richards was a playoff beast. Torts is my favorite coach. Honest and uncompromising.

  3. I remember this night like it was yesterday because I sat up until 5 am in the UK.My wife at the time almost divorced me for making so much noise and you know what I didn't give a F#$# because we won our first Stanley Cup and since then we have come so far now everyone knows who the Tampa Bay Lightning are HI HO HI HO HI HO LETS GO LIGHTNING LETS GO.

  4. Honestly idk what that last penalty was for, not a charge, stick didn't really get him in the face like they said, wasn't on the numbers… So… what?

  5. As a kid growing up watching That point to center ice, it will be tough to top that moment

  6. Gary Thorn is the goat announcer. Goes from calling the Stanley Cup, to Pete Weber's famous "Who do you think you are? I am!" bowling match, to being the Orioles everyday announcer among many other things.

  7. ST. LOUIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. And now in 2021, Tamba Bay is against another canadian team (Montreal)… let’s see what happens
    Go Habs Go!!!

  9. They won the last Stanley Cup televised on ESPN/ABC and now they won the the last Stanley Cup televised on NBC. What a coincidence

  10. ESPN/Disney-ABC's last NHL game until their triumphant return in 2021 (with TBS/TNT aka Turner/WarnerMedia as their secondary partner/sidekick of course).

  11. As a Sabres fan, I'm so glad Andreychuk finally got his Cup. Wish it came in the blue and gold but good for him nonetheless

  12. This was a terrible hockey game overall. Awful dead puck hockey. Thorne and the announcing crew are amazing but this was the NHL at its worst. There was maybe 30 total shots this game.

  13. It says "Available On abcHD". So we do need HD footage now

  14. I had to rewatch this because I have the privilege to be apart of a clinic run by Jassen Cullimore at the arena tomorrow and I’m excited to hear about all the stories.

  15. This game is for every fan who suffered through seeing this team play in a rodeo barn in the middle of a swamp, and then in a baseball dome with an amusement park literally next to the rink inside said dome. People laughed at the Japanese ownership group who were more like glorified gofundme donors than owners. People laughed even harder when Phil Esposito signed Manon Rheaume. And people laughed it was discovered that they had a head coach that couldn't read. (Jacques Demers.)

3 Stanley Cups later, nobody laughs at the Bolts now.

  16. I've never forgiven Tampa for this and has been on my shit list since then. Thankfully our Leafs knocked them out tonight while ending our 19 year curse!!
