  1. Kubalik is very much a hot and cold player. He scores goals in bunches and then will go multiple games with no points.

  2. I like the Kubalik on the 3rd line idea. If Greig is ready for 2nd line action, let's not hold him back.

  3. we should play Kubalik with Stutzle just to get him more goals than ADB next season lol dont mind the return hopefully we make another middle 6 signing to really shore up the offensive group like Tatar or Tarasenko either way return is around what I expected

  4. There will be a video tribute for DeBrincat! Everyone gets one. I won’t be surprised is Julien Gauthier and Patrick Brown get one as well!
Good riddance as Ross said! It was good while it lasted

  5. Believe Kubi can bring 20 to 25 goals, solid middle six wing play, and on the PP. The 1st is likely a mid teens to twenties and fourth. I think Sebrango is the real wild card I think. Is he a rh shot?

As always love the show boys

  6. Came down to goaltending last year. Sens just didn't have it. DeBrincat was a good effort, just didn't work out.

  7. I agree with the discussion about the original trade. It never made sense to me at the time when they got Debrincat. How could they ever have afforded him with Pinto, Sanderson and other prospects needed to be signed over the course of any extension they would give him? Were they just going to trade Pinto (who I think has more upside than Debrincat being bigger, better defensively and a center)? I would also suggest that all the people wanting Tarasenko explain how that can happen with $5M cap space left and Pinto at minimum needing to be signed.

  8. … and for God's sake get Formenton back for that left side.
No more commie Canada lefty garbage, where a kid is guilty till proven innocent….maybe he'll be PM😅😅

  9. I am not so sure brannstrom is gonna be the odd man out on the back end. I know a lot will depend on the play this year for all of them but chabot, sanderson and the chyc is gonna end up being to much $ to tie up on 3 dmen in my opinion. I think sadly one is gonna have to be moved after this season.

  10. Sens had no leverage, Yzerman basically took him without giving any of the young core. Sens didn't do a bad job, but this is a win for the Wings

  11. I'm going to assume the defensive prospect isn't going to pan out, but Kubalik at 2.5 million is good to great, but if Boston or Detroit struggle (which is possible), the first rounder could be interesting. At least we can figure out our roster now

  12. Good trade for Detroit, they got the best player in the trade. But I’m really glad the Senators didn’t roll out an 8x$8M deal for him. Money better spent on Sanderson down the road.

  13. Did not realize that Kubalik has been productive goal scoring-wise in the NHL: 30 goals in his rookie season, 17 goals, 15 goals and finally 20 goals last year. On average, that is over 20+ goals per year. Plus this season he will only cost $2.5 million. The Sens will be able to work with that.

  14. I thought Sokolov has to clear waivers next year and is ineligible for a 2 way contract? Isnt that how it works? And same with JBD?

  15. I think Joseph will have a better year but ideally the Sens bring in another middle 6 forward. With the cap situation I'm still scratching my head as to why they paid Branny $2 million when they dont even need him. Even Pillzy who thinks Branny is sooo valuable is already talking about a trade.

  16. Dorions fault, should have talked to him before trading for him. I knew this would happen.. Anyway I think it's a fair trade in the end. Kubalik and a 1st round pick . Ottawa has 2 first rounders now so they can trade some of those picks for other players.

  17. Letsgoooo, all DRAMA gone!. Sens army, we've rebuilt, signed warriors, got legit owner, new arena. Thats it. It is time.

  18. I'm happy with this… we get a much needed middle six, some cap space to hopefully sign a tarasenko or tatar (or maybe a trade for Konekny) and a 1st round pick we can move at the deadline if we need to reinforce somewhere.. but most importantly, we don't go into training camps with trade rumor distractions

  19. Worst case scenario we're goin in with a kubalik/norris/batherson 2nd line, which is probably better than the debrincat/ pinto/ batherson line we had last year.. and pinto on the 3rd line is much needed an upgrade there.. best case we get taraaenko or tatar for a great seocnd line and pinto/greig/kubalik gives us a really good 3rd line too (guessing we'd have to move Joseph to make it happen)

  20. Sens need a 2nd line winger, but idk what they will do about the cap space with Pinto still needing a contract.

edit: Kubilik would be an amazing 3rd line winger, but i expect we will be let down if he goes on the second line. I don't think grieg is there right now for a permanent spot on the nhl roster

  21. you think detroit's blue line isnt any good? it's likely better than ottawa's. 1. wahlman-seider 2. edvinson-gostisbehere 3. maata-holl and ben chariot. maata played 20 minutes a game on 2 stanley cup champions and hes 28. holl played first line minutes in toronto and hes not going to see the same matchups he faced in toronto. hes essentially gone from 1st pairing D to 3rd pairing in Detroit. chechryun and sanderson are nice players but they arent superior to seider and edvinsson. chariots probably detroits 7th man on d and 2 years ago he fetched a 1st rounder at the trade deadline. Detroits has other young depth at the AHL level in the minors. You are talking about sebrango being counted on soon and detroit probably has at least 4 defenseman ahead of him at this point in the minors and thats why he was expendable in trade. I hope it works out for him but detroits blue line is much better than you think and its likely better than ottawa's. At least from a depth perspective its currently better and it may be better overall as well.

  22. Gonna be honest, I don't like this trade at all and think Dorion failed to make our team stronger then last year's roster so far…

  23. Saga is finally over, thank God. Return in Kubalik and first ronder is decent and equals at the least what PD gave up. Let's add Tarasenko or Tatar and we will be in a better and deeper spot.
