Doesn’t hurt at all. Basically league minimum and gives them something Drury / Steps / Stastny couldn’t or wouldn’t give. He sucks or is a distraction? Waive him. Team is finally getting some grit.
Dude this is exactly what the Canes need!!!!! The lack of toughness is why the Canes have not won the cup! Every year the Canes get bullied out of the playoffs!!!!! It's not the lack of scoring or goaltending. When the Canes face guys like Chucky and Bennet and so on that is when the scoring stops. The Canes need this! I say no to Karlsson!!!!! He will just be another Ghost who doesn't like playing a defense first system! The Canes need to keep this D-Core in tact! I hate that the Canes did not sign Lejoei. I don't think you need DeAngelo either! The Canes have good prospects and should look at them.
I don't get grousing about physical players taking penalties , That's what they do and have always done . Florida swept us and Jersey gave us trouble too from their bottom 6 guys ,This is the NHL not the Finnish Liiga or SHL and its physical and nasty and our skill guys get pushed to the perimeter/off the puck or get trolley tracked with big hits so you need guys like this to "plow the road" for them . Svech/KK and Necas were red hot and K K wasn't getting a bunch of points but he was making the small plays to set them up and use his big body to punish/take defenders and let Andrei and Martin do their thing and have room .
This is a move that needed to be made. Someone to go out and knock around some heads. Now they just need that scoring winger that would have been Tarasenko.
That said, I think sending out a couple players to refresh the team may be in order. If they trade Pesce for a goal scoring forward, fine. But if you want to open the cap space, someone like turbo would help that. A lot of money to pay a guy to sit on the 4th line.
