He said he didn't want to be a part of a rebuild and that he wanted to win. Well the jets aren't rebuilding and with Wheeler out and Vilardi, Iafallo, Nino, Namestnikov, I think the jets are honestly a better team than they were going into the season last year — definitely defensively.
Not to mention the jets got Brossoit back who is tight with helle, we might actually see a tandem and it doesn't have to be all on his shoulders every game. Brossoit got out shone by Hill but he was lights out against Winnipeg and Edmonton in the playoff games he played before he got injured.

The thing to remember with Adin Hill is he played behind an incredible defence in Vegas’ cup run. Sure he made some timely saves but also Vegas did an great job of restricting high danger chances.

The reason they haven’t traded him is because this “haul” that you think exists simply doesn’t exist. NJ is not going to trade high level prospects like holtz and Seamus Casey for a 31 year old goalie who wants over 6 million a year. It makes no sense for them to make that investment and get screwed financially in 3-4 years regardless if it wins them a cup because let’s be real, NJ is probably going to win a cup anyway within the next 5 years regardless if they have hellebyuck or not. It’s especially not worth it when they have a young wild card goalie in shmid and will have to give extensions to Dawson Mercer and Luke Hughes a year or 2 later. The trade value for hellebyuck is significantly lower than people think and Chevy is likely dealing with that reality this offseason
