C’est assez hilarant de la part de McDavid…

  1. Can't wait to watch Mcdavid this year he looks absolutely locked in. i think he will get 160 to 165 points this year

  2. as an NHL fan in general (no specific team) i want him to win a cup….it would be good for the game

  3. Fuck, if McDavid decides to go for a selke this year it could be bad for the rest of the league lol.

  4. I've been saying this all summer – it's better to get 100 points and hoist the Cup than another 150 points and be done in the first round.
    Connor knows this too.

  5. For one axe the pre season I don’t watch it it’s pointless it should only be for the rookies or guys on PTOs. The professionals don’t need it to be ready. Next I don’t care how many points McDavid gets we have seen the 100 points we have seen the 60 goals all I care about is that he goes out there stays healthy and helps the term reach their goal.

  6. When I saw that goal, I just thought "McDavid decided he wants to go home now" and just turns up the effort for a moment to get the job done.

It is an interesting thought that he may sacrifice his offense in order to shore up the defensive side but I don't think he would make that decision unless coaching and management strongly encouraged it. Goals win games and he is literally the top offensive player in the entire league, so it is a very difficult situation to judge.

As far as I can remember, no team has won a cup off the back of 1 or 2 players in the modern cap era (how many teams have won sporting multiple 10M AAV's on their rosters?).If the Oil can figure it out, that would be awesome and would probably model future teams in similar situations.

  7. I can see connor injured first few games of the season. He will be out for half the season

  8. Consumed with the thought of winning a cup, that is what you want your captain to be like.

  9. I was thinking about that too. We could see something like same number of points, higher +/-.

  10. Must be nice to just decide to do 110-120 points because I don’t want to put too much effort offensively…
    This guy is so insane

  11. I already put good money on Oilers winning the cup and it's not the team I'm rooting for.

  12. I think they need to play to their strengths. Don’t try to be something other than your true identity. Their defensive individual play is obviously not perfect but it’s not horrible. It’s good. Look at Boston last year. Record setting season defensively and all that hype went down the drain. People say defence wins championships. No, balance wins championships. And the Oilers aren’t too far off the winning formula. Yes they need to reduce shot volume on the goalies. Shots need to come down to 30 against consistently. Remember good fortune plays a strong role in winning the cup. Staying injury free at least for key players and d-men. Getting puck puck and bounces at the right times in a series. Timing is everything. A learning from your mistakes. If certain veteran players keep making the same mistakes repeatedly throughout a season it’s time to move them out. And Skinner needs another consistent season.

  13. McDavid played about 4 seconds of OT last night. RNH came to the bench…McDavid jumps on and gets the feed from Bouchard and 3 seconds later it's over.
