#nhl #hockey #connorbedard #chicagoblackhawks #pittsburghpenguins

It's great to be back! YouTube can be a grind and with my regular job and everyday life outside of YT, it can all be a bit much so it was good to take a break but I'm very excited to kick off this new NHL season. Thanks for watching!!
Poor kid gonna get hurt and end up on the list of busts.
Welcome the new Crosby
I'm so glad you're back! 😊
How did I just realise Ryan Donato is now a Hawk.. 😂
For so many people being sick of the hype, it sure didn't stop them from setting a ratings record. The CHI-PIT game gave ESPN highest ratings ever for a regular season game ever. Glad to know I'm not the only one who's tired of the complainers. Nobody's forcing anyone to watch him.
They need to fucking calm down with him. Im starting to not like the kid
Hey, it made me watch hockey again. I don't think I've ever given attention to the NHL like I have now. There's a ton of fun talent nowadays, and I'm happy for him. I hope he quiets the haters!
I believe there is a difference between what is happening and marketing like you claimed it was. It feels more like its being forced upon rather then informing or highlighting. Showing a player in the next match is one thing doing it 20x times and only one player is ridiculous. The NHL does this and its not even a Bedard thing either. Mcdavid is probably the next worse if not worse abuse of it. However its been done on Eichel and Matthews to and all those times it comes off as forced.
Play by play is also guilty of this as they will rehash the same story for the entire game. Rather then sharing ones about other players or coaches. That is the difference between the NFL and NBA sometimes does the too much promotion to but not at that level. Neither are anywhere close to doing it as badly as the NHL.
The super hype should die down by November 1st. He just needs to settle in and then he won't be making a headline every night unless he really merits one on the ice. It's the same as a movie trailer. Once it has been in theatres for a little bit, it all settles down, and then the movie has to stand on its own two feet to be worth anything.
Mids good he's 18 and playing fine took a few bad shots but thats expected
Theirs marketing and then theirs overhyping.
Crosby was slso marketed to a similar degree in his Sid the kid first couple seasons.
2 points in two games isnt bad
Definitely not sick of hearing about the kid. I don't think people realize what they're watching. He's different! He's not going to have an incredible season but that's because the roster is awful but he's special and we'll see that in years to come. I know a ton of non hockey fans that started watching hockey this year because they heard about a phenom coming up. It's simply good for the sport!
I've never once complained about growing the game and I am already fucking sick of hearing about Bedard. Yes he's going to be good yes people have a reason to be excited but holy shit guys. Every article and video doesn't need to be about him, let's hear about other players too. There are other marketable names on franchises that weren't gifted a generational talent after being caught about covering up rape (Yeah I'm gonna bring that up, sue me). Where's the hype for young guys like Owen Power, Logan Cooley, Matty Beniers etc?
Anyone who thinks this kid is gonna bust is a moron.
The thinh with them not marketing their players is that they're still not marketing the players, they're just marketing Bedard
@nextmanupNMU you a pens fan right? if so i am one aswell! and honestly i don't like bedard.
Bedard is potentially a generational talent that actually has a marketable personality and plays in a major US market. The NHL HAS to lean in. That’s exactly how you draw interest, especially in the US. Look at the NFL and NBA.
It’s definitely overload but it is what it is
I am just happy I hear less about Connor "I cant win a cup" McDavid.
TNT broadcast literally brought me from having no opinion of this player whatsoever to kind of actually disliking him so you guys better be careful 😂. It was very obnoxious during the game
The Blackhawks season opener was the most watched NHL game in ESPN history per The Athletic.
I think it’s great that the league is trying to have better promotions, but I hope the kid isn’t eaten alive if he stumbles a little. He is very young and needs time to develop just like every other player that has been in the league
Marketing as a whole isn’t what people are tired of. Hockey fans are tired of the #1 overall pick being the only topic of conversation when there are a bunch of promising players. I think if multiple prospects from the class were marketed it would be better for the sport. Not only that, it takes steam off of Bedards train which makes it easier for him to live up to expectations without the spotlight solely being on him. He can handle the pressure but the marketing was pretty nearsighted. So the NHL has done a bad job.
If the NHL actually cared about marketing they'd have an NHL package or smart TV App where you could purchase the season much like the NFL or other sports leagues do. The NHL is such a hodge-podge of network coverage you'd have to purchase a half dozen apps to see most of the games. It's so frustrating
Glad you’re back! Love your videos man!
What i don't like is we're forced to watch that lousy Black Hawk team.
I was getting tired of the hype that Conner Bedard received during World Juniors and Conner Bedard was sick of it as well. The NHL and Chicago Black Hawks is another situation entirely. He’s going to sell a lot of extra tickets at home but more importantly for the league, there’s going to be a lot of extra tickets sold at Black Hawk away games and many of them being first time NHL ticket sales. That’s good for the game!
Let's keep it real though. He's gonna rack up a ton of points, but do people really need to claim his first goal was incredible? It wasn't.
I would say yes they need to market players, teams, and games. Plural. Spotlighting one rookie does nothing but annoy the people that arent riding the hypothetical bandwagon. Missing game play so the announcers can zoom in and punch the clown over this kid is frustrating a lot of people. If he does something good, show it. Just being on the ice is not a highlight
I find the games are more exciting this season so far
Bedard's only a few months younger than Fantilli, who gets his first start tonight, on his 19th Bday. The Calder race could be a stunner this year.
Logan Cooley is about to show everyone Bedard isn’t the only rookie to keep tabs on right now
Yeah I don’t care about all the hype I’ve seen it so many times. I base it off of what he does. Let’s give him time and see. He will create his own hype hopefully.
Bedards first game was the most watched NHL regular season game on ESPN EVER
Im from Chicago. Blackhawks fan. I thought it was kind of weird how hard they were riding Bedard… Every other word was Bedard Bedard Bedard. We get it. Hes good. Now let him play.
