Billy G is playing a dangerous game…The preacher of patience better hope that mantra does NOT come back and take a NICE WET BITE outta his ass…Great job guys love the show!!!!!!
You could say this group would necessarily be classified as bridging to future success while maintaining keeping an entertaining product on the ice. With the buyouts, you can't have it both ways. With the cap in place, you have to bridfe over to the future. There will likely be some hard trades made once the money is there and we will hear people complain about that too! To offer Foligno 4 years was way too rich however! Especially with the No Trade Clauses. That, to me was a bad move.
Last night's game with Chicago, it looked like the first goal was deflected off Rossi and on Pat Maroon's goal, that was the head's up play we're looking for from Rossi. I thought he looked much more integrated in the game. The first two lines looked super rusty! Too many whiffs on great passes in high threat area in front.
I'm convinced this franchise is doomed by the Curse of Cesare Maniago. If he hadn't given up a ridiculously soft goal to some Blues jamoke named Kevin O'Shea , the best team in franchise history (at the time) would have advanced to the conference finals and generated some serious momentum. Here it is 51 years later, and still no Cup . . .
Weird idea is that with all these 30 year old veterans getting resigned, I think either Dewer or Duhaime get traded or don't sign after this year.
I dislike both extensions mainly because I would have waited to see how they play and the NMCs which now means we have to protect them if the NHL expands, But these deals are not blocking anyone at this point. In two years, probably. I don't really think Walker or Beckman are legit top 6 players. Those guys probably become NHLers next year when we decide to move on from Maroon, Duhaime and possibly Dewar.
The biggest difference is Vets Koivu Suter Parise Staal etc were HATED by the younger teammates. The Vets Zucc Foligno Hartman etc are LOVED by teammates. As soon as primadonnas Parise/Suter were walked out the door this team started doing everything together. So I wouldnt say it is the same "country club" type swamp that needs to be drained. Also, sorry but the MN Wild prospect pool ISNT as good as many MN fans were lead to believe so yoy might need a few vets to bridge the gap. I wouldnt have resigned Foligno. I am Ok with Hartman and Zucc. . . Rossi Walker and Beckman ARENT top 6 forwards. Sorry! It also wouldnt have broken my heart if Guerin didnt re-sign Zucc Hartnan or Foligno.
