Leafs haven't had a great goalie since Belfour 20yrs ago and their D is below average at best..this team as currently constructed isn't good enough to do much in the playoffs..enjoy the regular season!

The 1:38 mark features a mention of "helter skelter." Although that is a Beatles' song, another whose title may also apply to the Leafs is "I'm Only Sleeping" lol. Yep the Leafs slept on the Hawks, and it showed. To Stellick's claim of poor 5-on-5 play having resulted in multiple goals allowed, there's no doubt because, over the past:
– 6 games going back to preseason the Leafs have allowed @ least 3 goals
– 4 games the Laughs have allowed @ least FOUR
At NO point last season (whether preseason, regular season or postseason) did the Leafs go more than FOUR games having allowed 3 or more goals, making the above streaks quite troubling. Rick Tocchet, after a Tuesday Eastern Time loss by the Flyers to Canucks' team of which he's currently the head coach, unsurprisingly, in a postgame media scrum, claimed Thatcher Demko had bailed the Canucks out when no non-Demko non-goalie skater had performed particularly well during that 2-0 loss. Marty Biron, on TSN's Sportscentre, claimed, in an interview with Lindsay Hamilton (subbing in that evening or night ET for the usual Jay on SportsCentre host Jay Onrait), to have not been surprised by harsh words from Tocchet either (via the video titled "How surprising are Rick Tocchet’s critical postgame comments?" posted under 24 hours ago on TSN's YouTube page).
So where do the Leafs go from here? On that I present a perfect segue to "Toronto Maple Leafs shuffle lines ahead of rematch vs. Florida Panthers," the title of the most recent episode of the Locked On Leafs' podcast (part of the Locked On Sports' pod series via the Locked on NHL pod series).
The D is not good in D -Zone coverage. They need to get Timmins back in the lineup. The forwards are good except third and fourth centers.
