  1. There was a moment I think in the 3rd when stars were pressing and there was a scrum in the corner, Myers went in from behind to start checking, and this is where he usually takes a penalty doing something dumb, but he properly took the body, stick wasn’t up high and the play continued. I couldn’t believe it. Our Tyler has grown up

  2. To me he is one of the bigger guys and the biggest. He can move big guys from the front of the net. He does have intangibles. And seems Tocchet is a hockey whisperer..

  3. It's Myers contract year and I definitely am seeing him playing to his potential finally. It really felt like the last few seasons any time he got a bit physical he would end up getting penalized even though it was a clean hit, frustrating to watch as a fan and I can't imagine his frustration level on those calls.

I do have to point out that last season it felt like Myers could not make a clean exit pass to the point that it made me wonder which team he was actually playing for.

Canucks are winning and he is a big part of the teams success, good for him!

  4. Myers is secretly our MVP. How can people not see this? I want to give a 10 year 100 million contract and we will win the Cup many times.

  5. His physical play has improved, his poke checks have improved, his breakout plays have improved, his shots have improved, his hockey iQ has improved. It’s like someone went back into NHL24 and upgraded his stats 😂

  6. When Vancouver overpayed for Myers, Jets fans said we were expecting him to be a top line D, when he's really a 3rd pair D. Now we see him playing 3rd pair minutes and coached to play more responsibly and he's actually playing well.

  7. He's been a little less of a liability. Let's not get carried away. He is worse than Friedman, he is worse than Cole McWard, Akito Hirose, and he costs $6 million. Please.

  8. It seems like there has been some very direct coaching that was targeted towards his play, and Myers must have listened and taken those instructions to heart. From the start of the season where he was still making the same passes that my 10-year-old is learning not to make to him now making safe plays and using his big frame… still costs way too much for a 3rd pairing d-man, but at the very least, he is not hurting the team on the ice and even helping out some…

  9. To me, it seems like after that 3 game streak of Myres costing the team 2 goals or more per game, Myres seemed like he got his passion for hockey back, which it seemed like the crazy team turnover and problems seemed to have drained out of him, leaving him a shell of a man just going through them motions. Now he looks like he's starting to enjoy playing hockey again, and all of the sudden, he's finishing his checks, keeping the puck away from the opposing forwards, and avoiding playing the body on his own teammates. He's even making good plays when I do notice him and not getting noticed most of the rest of the time.

I don't know what exactly happened at the end of that road trip, but something seems to have lit a spark in Tyler Myres and he's starting to actually play NHL caliber hockey again!
