Many Leaf fans say they looked good losing to the Bruins. No point in suggesting that Leaf Executives might make meaningful changes to give the Leafs a chance for playoff success this year – likely we should just expect more of the same.

This team has no leadership and no backbone.
Get rid of Keefe and Mariner and trade for some toughness on this team. Mariner is lazy, soft and overpaid and has an attitude problem.
Mariner needs to be benched like Huberdeau was in Calgary but I don't think Keefe has the balls to do it.
As long as Shanahan is in charge nothing will ever change. Shanahan was a great player but as management he SUCKS. All the years I have watched hockey I have never seen such a spineless team in my life.
Keefe got no balls, Marchand making a fool of Keefe. Most leafs players playing like they belong in PWHL triple a league with very limited contact.
Willie is back to being his old self. Has 17 games of career numbers and he is all of a sudden the best RW in the league. Now that he is playing against top pairing D-men let's see how he produces. Hasn't done much the last 4 games, he is a floater and always will be. JT has also been a ghost for about 7 games now.
On the forward group the guys they have to bring back next season are Matthews, Marner, JT and Knies. They have no choice with the big 3 and Knies is the future. Ever other forward on this team should be re-evaluated. Willie, Bert and Domi are options to re-sign. Imo everyone else should be gone except maybe Robertson. Rielly and McCabe are the only d-men back for sure, the leafs need to get nasty back there and don't have anyone buck McCabe who can do it on a nightly basis. NEW CAPTAIN, someone not on this years roster. A change of character with the C on the jersey is a must for this team moving forward.

From the outside looking in, I think the team might lack brotherhood. Zack, have you ever seen any of the "Behind The B" series that follows the Bruins and drops episodes every couple weeks throughout the season? The brotherhood the Bruins have really shows. They HAVE EACH OTHERS BACKS. I think the Leafs lack that, at least thats what i see. Also, I don't know how a Leaf fan can watch your content and not subscribe or smash the like button. Not even one hit on Marchand disgrace no Heart no Toughness ,Silverback Keefe got out coached again ,Pregame they praised how good Marchand is in the interviews by Leaf players, NHL Media Betman told the leafs to praise Marchand and your going to like it and they did they were told

You asked what is a positive? Gregor, McMann , Knies, Robertson and Woll. The issue is team defence at a 6 out of 10 imho a trade is needed. I just can't see this team having a bonafide chance to win the cup. Matthews and Marner are not physical goal scorers like Tkachuk or even Ovie for the love of Pete! Matthews, Marner, Nylander and Tavares are never overly physical checking in the neutral zone and don't throw any big hits in their own zone when the Leafs don't have the puck. A trade is required to fill this void. The Leafs need to make a big multi player trade. Bigger, badder and better defencemen is a start. It's not a rebuild but a re-fit.

you're bang on with your take on the toughness of this team. Matthews in particular has the size to be a at least a bit of a man.. but he doesn't. he never has. And i'm not even hating on him – he's an all world talent and i'm glad he's a Leaf during what are so far the best years of his career. He's just not really a leader.
Reaves shouldn't be playing. They look better with Bobby McMann. And agree with you 100% re: Tavares. not a captain. Never should have been. totally void of any character and leadership. Above average offensive player, but totally not what this team needed when they signed him and not what they need now. thanks Dubas.
