Yes, I really wanted the name to stay NY Islanders, but with the Brooklyn Nets, I feared a name change, so I wrote to Mr. Wang and explained that Brooklyn is visible on the logo. There's no reason to change the name because it'll distance themselves from the Dynasty team. I offered how of Such and such brings attention like the original Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and in the baseball the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Bruce Rather claimed he wanted the Isles, but built the arena length too short!
Not that he listened to me. But seriously, the arena seating chart looks like the one end has the angled outfield seats at the old Stadium. They built the Center from scratch and I'm scratching my head why a state of the art ugly arena cannot comfortably fit an nhl rink. We're talking a couple hundred feet longer. Intimate, perhaps, but it could have been just as intimate if the lower bowl accommodated a NHL rink, when they supposedly hoped to land them. I hope Free Agents want to play here!

as a Pens fan I can say if the Islanders had any kind of goaltending they wouldve beaten the Penguins last spring, no question about it. 1 hell of a series last spring between these two teams.
