It's amazing to see how good of a shot he has. He'll be breaking into the 50 goal club sooner or later. His shot is nasty. He hits snipes from the top of the circle on the regular. The Flyers are the most underrated team right now. I'm not saying they're gonna win The Cup but I mean, last season, they played most of it with AHLers. And, it took a bit for some of the younger guys to get going under new coaching and just getting to the bigs. They were bogged down by injuries more than most teams.
I watched the preseason, and while I know it doesn't mean much, I saw some really great games. I mean, Coots is back, Atkinson is back. That's like 150 points or so right there. And, Coots is the best 2-way forward in the NHL now. He was kind of tied with Bergeron but he's gone so now he's in his own league or being a face-off king and a 2-way God.
Atkinson is a 30 goal scorer. They have TK, Frost came alive at the end of last season. His hands are starting to look like Giroux's. He can dangle. He put on some muscle so he'll be better. Hart is still a top 10 goalie. Their 4th line is a monster of a line that seems to be able to score while also kicking the other team's ass. I've never been a fan of Hathaway but he does get some points and is a really good hitter.
Tippet broke out and is now a serious scoring threat. They plugged some leaks in the D. Having a guy like Staal can really help the younger guys. Sanheim put on like 30 pounds of muscle. So he won't be getting pushed around anymore. They have grit, skill, and good goal tending. That's a mix that can win games. I think people are going to be surprised at the level they're going to be playing at.
