Sammy's mental frailty is not meant for goaltending in the NHL
If he wouldn't get out of his net so far too the point he can't make it back is a terrible way to tend the net. And here losses the puck and flops around and makes it easy for people to score. He plays like a fish out of water. That one off his back was a joke, and a few other were awful too and it's been all season wtf. I want to love Sammy like I did last year and you can't forget how great he was last year. So he's lost the number one spot and ride Jones until Woll gets back and let Sammy play in the AHL for a few games and remind him he makes good money to stop pucks. Here reminds me of last year Mrazek. But now Mrazek is a superstar in Chi town lol. Please don't compare Sammy to jack Campbell where even when he won her would be too hard on himself and when he lost he completely weren't into meltdown mode and it was a prb nightmare. Funny thing is Jack Campbell is a great goalie off you changed his personality he is easy to sensitive and hard on himself. And address like things are great in Bakersfield when inside I guarantee he watches NHL highlights and especially Edmonton and Toronto ones here cries himself to sleep every night. i see Sammy with some Campbell personality traits but I think some of most is language barrier. But yeah Sammy needs to watch videos on goalies like vasilevsky and shesterkin his other Russian dudes and even Woll and model his game that way and i think he would greatly benefit from it. I hope Curtis Sandford is doing that with him now. But definately play Jones for a stretch and pray maybe Woll is back early or maybe if Reavo is on his way to robotas and maybe snag a decent goalie in a trade….

Toronto fans and media man. It wasn't just Sammy. The first and second periods of this game were so predictable. The 5 goal comeback not so much. They always lay a stinker after a successful road trip when the first game back at home is against a lower ranked opponent. They were bound to comedown off the high emotion of JT's 1000th point and thumping of the Rangers. It is human nature and natural. From day one, Sammy has been inconsistent and lets in a bunch of muffins and he won't stop. This is what you get. Brad was just buying time for Woll and Hildeby to develop. I would have pulled Sammy after the 3rd goal but Keefe is an idiot. Sammy should have started against Pittsburgh and Jones should have started against Columbus. Let's not blow our lids over this game.Defence and goaltending do need work but the offence managed to get a point. It's only a one year contract. Let him tough it out. Woll will be back. Martin Jones can fill in a bit and they still have Denis Hildeby in reserve. He will see some time in the big league this year. Brad needs to retool the blue line as a priority. The bottom D Marlies pairings are just barely but holding their own. Morgan Reilly is a great skater and puck mover and signed for life. McCabe is physical and earning his keep. Liljegren will be back soon. We still have not seen his best. Gio is getting too old but with ice time management is a good depth piece. The Leafs have no cap space. Basically, any changes on the blue line will come at the expense of TJ Brodie at 5M AAV who used to be good with the stick defensively but has been bloody atrocious for a while now and is a pending UFA. Brad will try to tough it out for a bit longer to see what he needs to do and he might even wait until the trade deadline when more teams fall out of the running and make Dmen available so he does not have to give up Knies or Robertson as ransom.

If you look at league leaders where does he rank? 54 out of 56 goalies. Unacceptable. 13 games. 5 wins. 5 OT losses and 1 regulation loss. It’s a miracle the Leafs haven’t lost more games. At this point almost any goalie in the league is an upgrade. Jack Campbell has .873. Samsonov .878.

We don't have a goalie issue. We have a team defense issue. Teams who care about each other lock it down for their backup. They tighten up so they support him better. The Leafs are far too immature to ever play for each other or their goalie. They all want the fancy plays and that's it.
